There was a fellow that dynoed 19 different cans and with a couple pipes included in the early XM era, some lost as much as 6 hp.

This is 3rd season with a Diamond S can and first can I ever used,so far been very pleased with similar performance as stock. The $1260 tag was annoying.
Ouch. Can’t put a price on recreation, but that’s an expensive muffler lol

Our crew ran the sled shed cooker can for years. not sure of the HP loss/gain or weight savings, but we were guaranteed a hot meal. Since their weight is almost as much as a stock turbo can and the price is $650ish, one of our crew has been modifying the stock can to accommodate a cooker. Works awesome, & no more burnt plastic.

Actually plenty of riding at that range, anything alpine in Golden area is 8000’ +.
LOL Better have your altimeter re-calibrated. Top of the mountain at Kicking Horse is only 7920 ft. Silent and Gorman Lakes are both below 7000 ft.
Its responding to clutch changes so:

1) Is the sled new? Was it on break in for part of this issue?
2) Did you mark the clutches to see where its shifting out to? You might need a gear change before it will pull the RPM, it simply might not have enough power to pull that gear at elevation. What track speeds are you seeing? If its struggling then you are going to get a lot more belt slippage and heat.
3) how much do you weigh with gear etc? This plays a larger part than what most people think.

Catamount glacier is over 8500'.
Just did a ibackshift kit in my 18 850 175, weights set up for 7500' and it ran 8000 rpm at 7200' on the weekend.

How did the kit perform? I’m really impressed with 23 Doo 175 clutching setup,it’s fantastic for the inching or crawl ability where speed is not a option. Was on a Doo turbo a few times in same area no comparison when boost was not a option.

I like it so far, engages very smooth at 2800rpm. Biggest difference I noticed was the engine braking, it really slows things down when you let off the throttle.

How is the 23 na 175? Thinking about getting one.
About 2200 km and very happy so far,I snow checked and in june of 22 they announced only the important people will get the Shot,Experts&Summit X models lol!It came with electric start instead, not a big deal other than loosing some storage in glove box behind seat.I changed front end to 34” and replaced 14lb battery to 4lb lithium.I also switched to Diamond S silencer 11.5 lbs lighter, added recoil and narrowed handle bars 3”.
