Seems to me that the president of AZCA publicly stated that inspections showed no signs of animal cruelty nor abuse, that the animals were healthy and despite the physical appearance of the farm thier needs were met....then he goes on to say that because Lynn doesn`t have a vetrenarian on staff nor anyone with a biology background he is over his head with the exotic animals.... so which is it???? he is in over his head and can not care for the animals OR the animals are in good health and thier needs are being met???? can't be both...

It's a paperwork issue, one person took some selected photos, made them public and created a following... then appealed to the AZCA to whom was quick to get on board because Lynn is not a dues paying member yet the AZCA zoos have a horrific track record for caring for animals even with huge government funding and a team of vets & biologists...

there are homeless children out on the streets yet 1034 people have made it thier mission in life to have lynn's animals removed and most likely many put down... as a side note the 2 facebook pages both for and againstthe guzoo have almost the same membership and total only 2100 people...

maybe I'm way off, I've never been there but neither have 95% of the folks trying to get it shut down...seems most of those who have been there support keeping it open except for those who want it shut down because they were stupid enough to put thier fingers into the cage and were bit...

If it was that simple he wouldn't be whining and crying about it, he would simply be fixing the issues and wouldn't worry about it because it would be a minor fix. It's not like he had one minor issue and the gov't came in and said were shutting you down for good. It takes a lot more then one chance.

He is getting shut down because of HIMSELF. No one else to blame! THAT is the problem with today, no one wants to be responsible for what they do. If he cares THAT much about his zoo he wouldn't of had such a issue in the first place.

The only ones to feel sorry for is the animals. It's sad they can't be offered a better home, the owner does not deserve them.

Another assumtion you have made based on PICTURES and the opionions of others who also have not seen the place in person. It is this 'Jumping on the Bandwagon' that I have an issue with as I believe every person should make a judegement based on FACT, and personal experience. I have been there, enjoyed it, have returned based on these great experiences.

What have YOU done to qualify yourself as an opponent of the organization?? Visiting a FB page does not count...just sayin.

There seems to be some doubt as of late that the Calgary Zoo can't take care of their animals properly. And they are a big zoo. Just sayin'......

So in over his head that the BC Ministry of Environment requested he take and look after a TIGER that was mistreated and in a distress situation in that province?

Obviously he knows a bit seeing all the animals in his care are deemed to be in good health. They won't be when he gets shut down. They're all being euthanized. You know, dead. What a solution...

I guess thats the problem.... lots of people see this like you as a "zoo career" comming to an end.... this isn't about that, it's the principal of a government agency going onto a persons private property and removing what belongs to him when no criminal act has been commited nor is there any recourse given for him to appeal....

cages were dirty, and in some cases beyond... BUT the AZCA report itself states that all the animals were in good health.... more than can be said for most government run/funded facilities...

the facebook page has copies of incident reports and people saying public safety is a concern...KEEP YOUR FAWKING FINGERS OUTTA THE CAGE!!!!

in none of the inspections was "Safety" cited as a concern... the "concern" is inadequate record keeping... on a privately owned hobby farm....

I am only posting because of your comments about the Government heavy handedness here. I don't trust any level of government in this Country, I think they are ALL power hungry dictators and a bunch of imbeciles. Most people I've met that are either politicians or work for government are there because they aren't good enough to work in the Private sector, and in my line of work I've worked with various govt departments for over 20 years. We are loosing our freedoms in this country day by day, yet we get peeps on this site that defend the governments every action, regardless of what it is because in their minds "government knows best and is there to take care of us". Look at the caribou closures in BC as just one example. Look at child services in our province, they take away a child from her parent because someone ELSE in the home was doing something they didn't like, and a week later the child is DEAD!!! Typical government. I don't trust their judgement in this case anymore than any other situation.

Hello, from GuZoo,

This recent media blitz intended to ultimately have us shut down, has resulted in unprecedented offers of support and help in all imaginable ways. Face Book and other social media is a powerful tool, and it can work for or against us.

Once those photos hit the internet, we were bombarded with phone calls and emails of the nastiest description. Hidden intermittently between some of the most vulgar and fowl language I have seen and heard were death threats, not only to us, but to the animals also.

But after two days of this abuse, the tides began to turn and the phone calls and letters of support started coming in. By day four the supporters out numbered the Anti GuZoo activists and we began to realize just how many lives we have positively touched over the years. It has been over a week since the beginning of all this crazy stuff and the letters and phone calls of support are still filling my mailbox and filling up our answering machine.

So, from the bottom of our hearts, we, the Gustafson family, would like to thank you so very much. I am sure you can appreciate the stress something like this causes to a family and having your support really lifted the load.

The governing authorities have done their inspections. We were visited by Alberta Fish and Wildlife, who two days later, issued us our permit. The ASPCA attended to do their routine complaint investigation concerning a goat with a broken horn, a tortoise with no heat lamp and a dog with a sore. The officers indicated the animals were dealt with to their satisfaction.

We will prevail.!

The GuZoo will live on!



Death Threats That's the mentallity of people that have no life outside of their PC. I think this would give me enough reason in it's self to lock the gate. Having to watch your back throughout the rest of your live and putting all around you in danger. This my fellow snow and mudders is Terrorism on another level.

Yes, I was at the fundraiser last week, signed the petitions, picked up the list of emails to the various MP's and have written numerous emails to those various people. Have I been there recently before that? Sure have, was there also in March, had business in Linden, so stopped in took a tour, made some more great memories...good time.

What else have I done?? I continue to battle the uninformed losers on the internet every chance I get, and continue to encourage them to get off their butts and go have a look for themselves...seldom works, but I keep trying.

Of course you were saying this while at the same time you were saying that your own yard was beginning to look awful dirty and you had some doggie doo doo to pick up since you ignored it all winter. Spring brings mess you yards and farms alike, but apparently your mess is ok, his is not...

Why dont I post my pictures? Simple answer there...Those pictures are for me and my family to treasure, not have some simpleton twist into something else. If I want to see a pic of my daughter holding a blind baby bear cub, feeding him apple slices, in the pen, then I will look at them. Last thing I need is someone from your side to take that treasured picture and tarnish it with your opinion that perhaps she shouldnt be feeding a bear. I am the parent and I will make that call, thanks. In short, my pictures are private, and will stay that way.

Going....not going....sorry that is flip-flopping in my mind...I truly respect your right to be opposed to the place, that is your choice to make, I just ask you to make the choice then stick with it....much easier to argue about it then LOL
