Was there many years ago, still laugh about the Siberian Tigers. They were raised from kittens and they had a small dog a Pug and he would go into the cage and them Tigers would cower in the corner till he was gone. A couple of 600 lb Cats cowering because of a 10 lb Dog, that was a sight to see.

Haha that's awesome. Went with a bunch of friends 2 summers ago, and at the lion cage, the girls started singing "can you feel the love tonight". Well apparently the male lion was feeling horny, so he went over and started mating with a female lion. Us guys had a good laugh. The girls were not laughing. Typical.

Sent from my kickass HTC Desire because Apple sucks!

So, what does tree hugging have to do with this?

All we are doing is misinforming the general public to think we are a bunch of id10ts?

I guess there is good and bad about everything.

Apparently he was told to clean up his act in 60 days...

He did not get his licence renewed for exotic animals.

Here are some pics that I found. Take it as you want, but I think he let his zoo slide a bit.

Guzoo

Have you ever been to a farm in your life????????? I could take pictures in the spring, when conditions are muddy, of a newborn laying in the snow/mud, and the mother eating the afterbirth off the calf, and write a story based on that picture that would turn most of the free world off of eating beef.

What happened to Lynn and his family is out and out bullch!t period

So, animals should be wallowing in their own feces...:nono: Plastic bags and garbage strewn in their pens? Improper watering and feeding procedures?
I am sure if he made a better effort to clean up his act, and not have the public see this, he would still have his licence. Sure he did a great thing to take in these animals, but on the other side of the coin.... where do you draw the line?

A Man & his Dream

Ladies & Gentlemen; STOP... stop what your doing for just a second... look around @ what is happening... we are all witnessing the death of a era, a legacy, a treasure, a dream & most importantly a MAN.

We are all fighting so hard to save "Guzoo"... They are fighting so hard to kill "Guzoo". All this is happening while behind us the lives of up to a hundred animals & @ least one man hang in the balance. Recent polls are showing 50% think it should be closed, 50% think it should stay open: BUT 100% of us do not want to see ANY animals put down.

Lynn Gustafson lost two very dear family members many long long years ago, at that time he realized life is short, you have to live it to the best you can every day. He built a dream. His love of children & animals became the focus of his life. The laws were not accommodating to anyone in Alberta who wanted to have a private zoo. So being the "Stubborn old Scott" that he is he found way's to fulfill his desire to care for the animals he loved & to share them with as many children as he could. Of course this caused him issues & he found himself in court. At that time the only way you could own exotic animals was to obtain a license to operate as a fur farm. So after being charged & convicted of minor infractions that would later be used against him in his quest to share he acquired a fur farm license not in order to harvest furs but rather to possess the animals he wanted to share with the world.

Well it wasn't long before some people became concerned for the welfare of the animals. They started raising the alarm & the rules were changed & in true Lynn fashion he persevered. He had a hand in making changes to the laws to help make it safer for the people & the animals. But that wasn't enough. Just as sharks circle wounded prey, the protests continued. But he persevered, he had a dream, however it was slowly becoming a nightmare. The family he had were now becoming the victims, threats where being made, lives appeared to be in danger, he persevered. All he wanted to was to share as much nature with as many people who could enjoy it as possible.

The more he tried the more they cried, he persevered. Then the straw that broke the camel’s back, social media gave those worried about the welfare of the animals a voice louder than ever heard before, people, many people, listened & of course so many of them also are animal lovers just as Lynn is but they heard how terrible things were "the animals are in danger" they heard. No one wants to hear about how animals are danger so the pitch forks came out. The stake was set & Lynn’s DREAM turned NIGHTMARE no became his undoing.

Now backed into a corner he was made to resort to any tactic he could find in order to save what was left of his dream. Perhaps fear, if all people hear the truth perhaps they will reconsider & realize the damage they are causing, that didn't work, it only brought out the torches to light the stake a blaze with....

This story isn't over yet. No one knows right now how it will end. What we do know is if we continue to fight each other & spend all of our energy fighting battles that have no effect on the end result there are MANY animals that will lose their lives for no reason. A man’s dream will be lost in truck loads of animal carcasses driving down his lane & a piece of him will be lost in every carcass. All that will be left after the last truck leaves is a mere shell of the sparkly eyed Scott who's only purpose in life was to share... But... He will persevere. After all he is a "Stubborn old Scott". But it won't be the same, some of the sparkle will be gone, the dream much smaller, MANY people less fortunate to have not met the DREAMER Lynn, now shake hands with a happy but less exuberant Lynn. His beloved basset hounds not at his feet, Wallace not roaring in the distance.

But he will persevere... He will share... whatever he has... he will welcome everyone... friend or foe to his table & they will be fed... Because that is Lynn...

you're right. Let's just take the animals out back and I'll put a bullet in each of them. That's a MUCH better plan :nono:

Better yet let's give them to The Calgary Zoo they have an EXCELLENT track record with keeping animals alive.

Or we could leave them with a man who knows each animal has raised many of them and has been personally running an animal sanctuary for a quarter of a century. But that doesn't sound like a good idea at all

So are you guys teling me the peeps that make the decision to shut the zoo down didnt go and look at the farm and make their decision based on facts?? Or are the decision makers peeps that sit back and look at the pics posted on facebook and snowandmud?

And theres no need to jump down others throats that have a different opinion then yous!! I'm sure that Lynn was a really nice man who just wanted to do nice things for animals. But everyone has their limit and "FROM THE LOOKS OF THE PICTURES." It looks like he needed some more help. Maybe all yous who are crying about it getting shut down and live close and visit all the time and know the guy/girl personally shoulda went a gave a helping hand.........

I dont care if it stayed open or shut down. Never even heard of the place before all the pictures of the shoddy pens and garbage started showing up.

I wish we could euthanize some tree-huggers...

was there not a world war because of a guy who had this idea also?????

i don't agree with the way out there greenies but they do keep the greedy corporates and governments in check.

the zoo may have been run properly at one time, but it appears as it was falling apart. no animal or person should be allowed to suffer because of neglect.

If he cared that much there wouldn't be dirty and suffering pictures, he wouldn't be commenting basiclly laughing at the pictures. He would be saying he needs help to keep it clean, doing everything he could for the animals. No one who helped close it expected the animals to get putdown I know I didn't. I knew animals were suffering and wanted to help end it. If he was willing to make a good effort to do so he should be allowed to keep them. The closing is ALL his fault the only person to blame is the one not caring for animals properly. I have been on a farm, and his isn't acceptable at all.

As all ways there are two sides of the story, as a side note I do find it funny that there are a few of you that are blaming all the problems on "tree huggers" that is a very broad statement based on few facts. "Tree huggers" as in all groups S & M included have their fair share of fanatics. Everybody has the right to have their own opinion. I believe that a more balanced view point needs to prevail. I don't mean to usurp the Thread about Guzoo but you people are acting like a bunch of uneducated hillbillies. Before you set torches to the treehuggers, what do they have to do with animals? Not much. You should be setting your sights on supposed animal welfare groups whose mandate is to free all animals including all farm animals. By their view we should be eating tree bark, now wouldn't that be pissing off the the tree huggers? Someone has had it in for Guzoo from the very start, that is evident, but for everyone who has jumped on the band wagon they should delve into more facts before shooting their mouths off. The media as they are wont to do love to stir up controversy and light a match and see what burns. Then they write about the fire afterwards. Just my two cents. P.S. people lighten up Piston broke was just being funny, you know ha ha . It was funny from my point of view.

look at most of the farms around anywhere..... they all look like chit [ even mine in the back 40 ] .......

mabe we should close down farms all together.... simple way so everyone is treated the same

If your farm looks like that, then you shouldn't be farming. Dead animals, garbage everywhere, lack of proper food and water. That is animal cruelty. Unless YOU want to live like that, don't make animals you take care of live like that.

Mud, feces, etc are things that happen, even the odd dead thing. But it's things that should be cleaned up. We know what a farm looks like it's "dirty" but not the type of dirty that the pictures show. A zoo where the public regularly visits needs to be kept to MUCH stricter guidelines also.

The fact that people think those pictures are acceptable is just mind boggling.
