I wonder if hotels are going to raise the price? Also trying to get into a restaurant may be a challenge with all the man power in town. :/

Whisper creek cabin and BBQ... done

maybe...they have rented out multiple to Ledcor workers long duration. Better book ahead lol

As for everything else, most of the workers seem to be in the camp. I Have been back and forth all summer and there is a little more traffic but getting into restaurants and accommodations is not an issue.

i heard through the grapevine ( not confirmed ) that ledcor will be slowing operations during the winter.

still 3x what its worth lol. Pricing is starting to correct itself. Lots in town have come down to around the 60k mark. Howver lots in the new subdivision are definitely more desirable, larger and arent a bad deal at 140k

how many of them are within stumbling distance from the infamous Maxwell Chalet?

I have a buddy looking for a place or land in Valemount and pricing still seems way over priced. Until the ski hill is a for sure no go people will still hold onto the hope that it will be built.

I know a guy who just bought a chunk of property in Valemount, I think he did pretty good on the pricing.

My family could have a bunch of land for sale if the BC goverenment would let them subdivide. But we can't even split the property into 2 parcels.

It wasn’t long ago people scoffed at lots for sale over 100k in Revelstoke , now a building lot here is well over 300k. If you think a lot is overpriced you may miss the boat .

I think there's still a lot more room to develop in Valemount vs Revelstoke tho.... and no ski hill, but that may never come, and I bet some don't want it to.

Ya a little late to push that turd back in here. So many growing pains with no available rentals other than VRBO and failing infrastructure with no plan to fix it. Another big issue is woefully inadequate development cost charges and developers taking full advantage with taxpayers footing the bill. Our local Revy rentals page has had 1400 new people sign up with SFA available and when a rental does come open people are swarmed with inquiries.I sympathize with Valemount and wish them the best . Hopefully they can take lessons from Revelstoke if Development starts there. The lessons being -WHAT NOT TO DO.

Yes Tyler, I did just purchase a lot in Valemount today on 9th Street. Was listed at 74, Sealed the deal at 60. Don't think I went wrong here. Lately there has been a few going in town that's 4 lots sold that I know of in the last few months. The listing will probably be gone in a few days as the paperwork is done and deposit is in transit. Not sure if I can park the fifth wheel on here for the winter, will check. Otherwise will put up a small 2 bedroom house in the spring.
