Track speed vs ground speed or mpi viper 162 vs summit t3 174

The new viper with the 180 kit is a nice sled to ride!! I'm not into the 4 strokes but I enjoyed riding the new viper.

nice ta have the option without paying through the nose, kinda like Yamaha with the turbo.....

and 5yrs down the road what will still be running and on its original motor and clutches??? hint. not a fawking doo. hell the yamahamay still have the original belt for a spare ffs.

Theres no way you can take a 180 Yamaha. Ive been kicked off of here many a time for even bringing that chit up.

maybe he should have ......What has more track speed a 2014 summit t3 174 tss turbo or a 2014 yamaha viper ..... with that big 162x 2.5 inch track lol

so now you want to compare a 5000-8000$ turbo kit too a 2500$ kit.you can get the yammi with the turbo kit for about the same price as the t3 174.i have nothing bad to say about the xm but if you want to go that way how about i buy a stock 162 viper & put a 174 X 3 on it & a boost it turbo kit against the x3 doo 174 & tss kit, price will be almost the same & the viper will still have more track speed.both great kits both fun sleds but the viper will win the track speed race & in really deep snow the 4 stroke power shines.

The real issue here is which one processes snow better. We need to see the numbers on both and Russ is the only one on this forum I trust to complete those calculations correctly so will have to wait until we hear from him on this matter before rendering an opinion. LOL

Havent ridden the Viper so cant comment on it. But the 174 T3's climbing ability didn't really impress me. I Climbed it out of sugar bowl and it didn't have much track speed or ground speed. Wicked sled though,with a 872BB or turbo look out cause it would go any where you pointed it.

That's really not important in a situation like I'm speaking of. Your forgetting you now have to accelerate a heavier object with less traction up an incline from a stop in powder snow. Your viper will be trenched up to the headlights. I'm not saying torque and power are not extremely important but it doesn't fully compensate for weight and traction when we are talking about 180hp kits. Throw a 174x3 on a 200+Hp Yamaha and likely game over for the skidoo

Yeah that's BS, its still too front heavy, I havent ridden a viper yet but I highly doubt this. If it was the case, every manufacturer would have a four stroke contender.
