another chapter.....

In 1977 our oldest boy started hockey.

Sledding was taking a back burner to the hockey

 

[ferniesnow]

with 4 boys in the sport

 

[ferniesnow]

dad started coaching

 

[ferniesnow]

spent all winter up through the 90's

 

[ferniesnow]

behind the pine somewhere

 

[ferniesnow]

coached right up through Midget and then when I had time I'd doo coaching clinics.

 

[ferniesnow]

Sent all four boys to Notre Dame for a total of 9 years.

 

[ferniesnow]

They all did the midget AA and or AAA and Junior thing.

 

[ferniesnow]

No scholarships

 

[ferniesnow]

The best part was when the youngest one started playing Senior in Sask.

 

[ferniesnow]

He was an import and they actually paid him travel and so much cash a game.

 

[ferniesnow]

He liked that a lot better than University hockey. No pressure and a lot of fun

 

[ferniesnow]

He played with Willie Mitchell and Fetetenko in Melfort

 

[ferniesnow]

The older boys played with Brindamere and quite a few other NHLer's.

 

[ferniesnow]

I wore out a car driving that fine province watching them play junior.

 

[ferniesnow]

For 20 years plus I did no sledding.

 

[ferniesnow]

When we moved back to Saskatchewan and did the last part of their hockey thing

 

[ferniesnow]

they were not staying in that province
