New Year's eve, last day of moose season

cruising some sloughs with the sleds and fine a cow moose

she doesn't really know what a sled is as she is not scared

colder than the h*ll

 

[ferniesnow]

we are within 200 yards.

stop the machines and get set up

 

[ferniesnow]

she's just eating the willows and is non-challant

 

[ferniesnow]

two shots and it is over

 

[ferniesnow]

big old trappers sleigh

 

[ferniesnow]

gut her and quarter her and load the sleigh

 

[ferniesnow]

a very large load

 

[ferniesnow]

one sled pulling the other

 

[ferniesnow]

with the sleigh hooked behind.

darn cold as the sun has gone down

back at the truck

 

[ferniesnow]

it won't start too cold

tarp over the hood, tiger torch

in the mean time we load the sleds on the trailer

moose quarters in the truck box and they are starting to freeze.
