Like drywall joints on windows, no professional would EVER do that. Lucky if they haven't cracked already.....

Fascia board joints not on trusses/blocking. Scabbing a piece on the back, ya I bet a professional would do that. Not.

I'm not, and it means all of zero. Go looking up alberta building codes, get some experience with buildings and you'd see the issues with the house.

i can't believe it hasn't fallen down yet!!!!!!!!! were some mistakes made while i wasn't watching, you bet. show me ONE house where there absolutely ZERO mistakes made by someone. is the house unsafe or falling down or cracking everywhere or moldy, etc..... not too likely

ch!t. Better go tell most the guys doing framing, concrete, carpentry, insulators, etc ALL that they better go get their ticket because until then they don't know jack ch!t.

Experience is earned through work experience, do not need a ticket for everything. I have just under 10 years experience in construction and almost everything to do with home building.

Cyle...I hate to get in on this but yes, it would prove that you have actual qualifications if you were a ticketed tradesperson, had an engineering or architechtural degree. Just saying.

i know of more than a few commercial buildings who's structural slab is 1" under thickness to save some $ on concrete....floors still in good shape....and places where splicing with blocking was required.....and for in misinformed, splicing on the back is a common practice and falls well with in code as long as the proper parameters are followed

I'm not saying it's going to fall down. But i'm saying, there is a LOT of things wrong that professionals just don't do. Not saying it's worse then a lot of homes being built nowdays either (a lot of them are junk). I'm saying you obviously don't have a lot of experience in home building. Most mistakes done by professionals are fixed, being they won't accept something not done right.

But I will say, if you don't have water problems in the attic, you are DAHM lucky.

ok, fine, BUT i know and have been involved in most area's of commercial construction but i don't call into question those who have the knowledge in the area, nor take an argument over HS education and turn it into criticizing someone else home......

and your telling me all these no ticketed framers, concrete workers and carpenters know more than the guys who have taken SPECIALIZED TRAINING in that area....comparing high school to trade school is apples to chit. trade school is specialized training in a specific field, high school gets you a diploma that says " i learned a bunch of random chit"

who will you trust to build your house, a guy who "has the experience" or the 10 yr ticketed carpenter who built his own house?

i have met unticketed and ticketed trades, on many many occasions, yes some non ticketed guys know they're chit, but for the most part i will take the guy who has learned it, applied it, and isnt calling out another mans craftsmanship on his own house.....just sayin
