So i found a little time today and got started. The tear down.

Here is a quick reference of the difference between a 153 and a 174 tunnel caps.

Well its official, this might be the first 174 SW. The tunnel is officially 174" as of today.

Well here is something that i think the 2018 should have had.
These will be replacing the crappy (IMO) Cat boards. While Yamaha is adapting to Cats narrow boards for 2018, i'm going wider with Extreme CR boards. LOL

So i managed to get in a couple of hours into the project this afternoon;

I almost didn't take these pics, kinda forgot. I started to rip apart the other side and realized i wanted to do a comparison for you guys. Crappy...Ooops i mean Cat boards vs CR boards.
You can see where i started to pull the rear step, then stopped Ooops better take some pics.
Left side is done;

Looking great there Mike. Hoping your operation went well and you get some seat time on that thing this season.
Ooops sorry about the side ways picture LOL.
Maybe this is better.

So got the Cooler completed for those following this build;
The first picture shows installed of new Super Sidewinder cooler.
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f107/mikeslund/DSC_0060.jpg
This second picture shows the difference between a BTX cooler on far left, MTX cooler in center(cardboard cut out of exact dimensions) and far right is the Super Sidewinder cooler. These are tunnel coolers that work in conjunction with the bulkhead cooler.

The third picture i'm just showing the profile of the new cooler. 1/2" vs 1", this allows for better track clearance and snow removal.

Last picture shows the OEM cooler vs the new super cooler in cooling surface improvement.

Well the track showed up. I guess the next big thing is to cut it down. Maybe this weekend, given the time.
