What are the HP numbers of these sleds? I know I've read 187-208hp stock form. But what's the limits of factory setup? 240HP?

That's correct, the MTX model comes with 36" stance. I'm building off a BTX platform.

I have seen the number's my self on Randy's Swanson's 2017 SW. CR set it up on the dyno and it pulled nearly 210hp completely stock. Installed CR's down pipe and it gained a solid 20hp, reading on dyno hit 230hp. We were so surprised that we thought we made a mistake and reinstalled the stock muffler and retested, got the same results. This sled makes power.
No reflash needed and there is 2 pipes style available through CR-racing. Resonator and straight. The resonator will give you a 15hp gain. It's also the pipe i'm installing on this build.

I have a very hard time believing those numbers....

So if a guy found a 141" sidewinder could he do the same build? How much for the 36"front end? Are you getting your front shocks shortened? And would the rear suspension brackets be the same on the 141 as your btx?

It's about $900 for the front end and yes you need the shocks shortened. To me it makes no sense to get the 141 or 153. Get the 162 and you get the good front end. Then sell the 162 rails and 3" track. Selling a 3" track would be easier than selling a 141 or 153 (1.75" lug). Easier to recoup some money getting the 162".

Sorry niner, i never did any research on any of the other Yamaha model's, just the BTX.
The BTX is basically a shorter version of the MTX but with the wider stance. It is considered a mountain/crossover sled.
It really depends what your looking for, are you wanting to stretch it to a 174 or leave it as a 141? I'ed be willing to bet that yes the 36" kit would be a bolt on.
Yes i'm shortening the shocks, the new A-arm kit comes with everything you need to do it including the shock bushing's used to shorten them.
What model you looking at?
BTW, if your looking into doing such a project, i know of atleast 3 BTX that can be picked up for cheap cheap, then you can invest that saving into the build.

This is only true if your wanting to stay with a 162, if you plan on ditching the 162 for a 174 that is not the case. A BTX can be picked up for about $4000 less then an MTX. In the long run it will cost you more to convert an MTX, i ran all the numbers and to stretch an MTX you will push over 20k. Unless you pickup an MTX for really cheap somewhere.

I recommend the MTX model if you have no plans on stretching to a 174, if your plan is to stretch it out and you have the know how, tools and skill to do so. The BTX platform is a good choice, the MTX will run you about $1000 more in the long run but requires less work to do it.

I do have to say also lots of factors come into play, like the type of track you choose, raw rails or powder coated, gear ratio changes or not, the list goes on. Plus what ever you recupe on selling the parts you won't use. Selling parts can be a tough gig, people want parts but are not willing to pay.

I do this as a hobby, i enjoy doing build's as much as riding and i'm inspired with the fact that i don't like to ride what every body else rides.

I've done a few searches and found a few 141". I've seen a few low mile 141 for $13000.If I build one it will be a 174. So just following your thread to see how much it's going to cost.

I could probably get you a BTX for very very close.
If your interested i can PM you a list of most parts your going to need to do the build with the cost associated with the part.
This will give you an idea on the cost. But it will be in connection with the BTX model. I can also separate it so you can see what you need to do an MTX.

That would be great. Would give a guy a better idea before I commit.

Will this sled be better than an Skidoo 850 175"?

I would think in certain areas clearly. If he's going 174 x 3.2 and bumping the HP a bit. It won't even be close in climbing or deep snow days.
