Not trying to be confrontational but am a member over on Totallyamaha and don't want to see someone get into trouble with leaning or overboosting a Winder. Most tuners over there even recommend reflashes for most exhaust cans.

So far no problems but that doesn't mean thing's will not change. The air intake and pipe system are built in house by extremely smart individuals. Chad at CR is a legend in this field. Plus we have the knowledge and expert advise of Yamaha's top WORLD Technician. Nick King. 2014 Yamaha tech competitor and Canadian champion winner.
Basically this is not a copy cat setup.

I dont quite understand....so the sled you have is a 2018, or a 2017 that you will be riding in 2018? Is the 174 track stock on the 2018, or are you just converting this one to a 174?

The sled is a 2017 model year. The reason i posted it this way is because it is VERY UNLIKELY Yamaha will bring out a Sidewinder running on a 174 in 2018, 19 or in the near future. There is just not enough of a demand for this type of sled and it would push the sales value above the 20K, something that i believe Yamaha is not prepared to do.
I don't expect much in changes in 2018 other then minor things and color schemes, Yamaha did there big change in 17 with the SW. If i'm correct about this, you could call this a whole new model for 2018. There will not be many 174 SW running around. Yes in this case it will not be hitting the snow till the 2018 season.

At the speed your going, you'll be done in two weeks.
Keep them pics coming.

Hahaha, it's going to be a while though. If i had all the parts ready to go. It would take about a week. Still have not decided on a track and rails are not ordered yet and got some powder coating to do.
Got to get the drivers out for the new drivers to be installed and looking at modifying the coolers for better cooling on hard pack days. Tunnel extension is ready, just need to remove the current extension.

Seeing your not in a hurry, a little trick I did on my pro build, after I had pressed on the new 7 tooth drivers, I put the shaft in the lathe and made them perfect. Not sure how much of a gain it is but was pretty surprised how off they were.

Couple things happened today for the build...no new pic's. though.
The tunnel extension is now at the powder coater's and i should see it back Friday or early next week.
The driver's have been swapped out from the 9t to the 7t.

On another note, i have confirm the fact that NO reflash is needed for both the fresh air intake and pipe setup's.
The test mule shows O2 reading consistent at 12.4/12.7 all day long. This is very much in the safe zone and imo on the rich side.
The dyno run show's no HP increase with the fresh air kit but with the straight pipe a 20hp increase and straight resonator pipe a 15hp increase.
The straight pipe is very loud, too loud for my liking. The resonator pipe on the other hand has that ever famous cool 4stroke tune to it.
So if your wanting the most, go for the straight pipe and wear earplugs. For me its the resonator pipe.
