I tried to take it in after my April trip but they said they are done working on sleds until next season. I’m taking my sled in and paying for an hour or two of labour for them to go through it and repair everything they can under warranty.
Sounds like the power valves maybe sticking.

I haven’t taken my 18 in for the reflash yet and now I’m thinking I’m not going to. My sled runs flawlessly and consistently pulls just over 8000.

My 18 mountain cat heats up really fast. I know it has small coolers but even in decent snow it heats up. I have to use my scratchers until I get to the warm up cabin. Is this normal?

Try bleed the system, there could be an air pocket which would restrict the coolant flow.

If any kind of powdery or loose snow, it should never heat up.

My '15 did this last season. I managed to fit about a liter of water in to the cooling system. All the time she spent upside down eventually spilled enough coolant out of the overflow.

My Alpha is prone to running warm on the trail too. Scratchers handle it but l need them in conditions where I'm sure l shouldn't. No problem in the alpine.

Fuel line rubs on steering post bracket (from fuel tank movement) rubbed through the outer cover on mine. Filed down for more clearance

My 19 Alpha got the reflash when the primary clutch was getting warrantied. Was out to Revy yesterday for the first ride of the season. The idle was a little different than before at times but nothing that caused a problem. Never heard the afterburner all day so they got that fixed it seems. Snow wasn't the most challenging but did some pulls throughout the day and WOT RPM was always 8100/8150. That is with my 2000km belt. So the update was seamless for me.

There's a safety recall to get them reflashed. On a hot engine sometimes after you hit the kill switch a fireball pops out the muffler. Look in the snowmobile chat section for Kanedogs gleeful, but partially correct, assault on the Cat primary.

Hahahaha.. yes, Kanedogs inquiry started off as interesting read.....

What was the "fix" for the primary?

I remember my old rev used to do the fireball thing before I put the dual ring pistons in. Scared the **** out of me first time it happened.

Yeah, I've had lots of sleds over the years that did this. The Alpha just did it more.
