Thought you guys would like to see the transformation on this one.
Finally found a PRS hood to put on my brothers 92MX. It's not in the best of shape but I there wern't to many out there to choose from. This is the only one I found even with all your guys input.
Anyways, as I dig into this one, I see it's been painted four other times so we start by fixing the cracks and stripping off all the paint and getting some high build primer on it. That's my goal tonight. I'll keep you up to date with the progress.

I'll try to attach some pic's.

Reached my goal, got the primer on it.
Next I"ll sand it down and see if I have to reprime. I probably will have to. One more prime will make it a better job.

Are you making a 92 MX a project sled? My dad has one that has'nt moved in years and its in great shape except for a piece of the frame under the hood that broke. The weld just let go. What a sled that was. He bought it with 400km on it and both my brother and i road the piss out of it only ever breaking one piece in the rear suspension. I think it has around 10,000km on it and never touched the motor. i would like to make it a project machine.

This is more of a restore project. My brother has had this sled for years and it needs a good clean-up. His kids are getting to the age where they can use it now. This sled will mostly see the groomed trails around Candle Lake Sask.
The paint scheme is going to be a little variation of the original pearl white with the silver and red stripes.

After a couple of hours block sanding with 180 grit she's ready for the reprime. Then it's final sand time and the time to aplly the color.

Just about done. Got the color on it yesterday, now just a couple of little things to finish it off. 1-Medallion on the front. 2-Ski-doo decals on the side. I'll get those done this week then deliver it to the bro at Christmas.
Hope he like the new look.
Pic's of the hood finished.
