I think you have just managed to take the most expensive 12L gas can in the world and double its price. Lol

Yeah your correct...but I wanted something that works better than what’s available and is narrower than the doo can. I bought the Can used so I really don’t have much into it.

I know, I looked at recycling my doo Jerry can and tunnel bag onto my cat. No go.

Amazed at how small the mountain addiction tunnel bags are compared to the ski-doo ones.

Not only is this an epic build but the anticipation of seeing ride pics every time I open this thread has me ready to drive down and take that whip for ride. If your busy Im willing to ride it thru break in for you ?

lol. It’s is pretty pathetic I haven’t been out yet...the snow pack just hasn’t come to where I would like it to be so damage is kept to a minimum. Kids hockey has taken time away also...hopefully get out in the next 2 weeks.

Finally got my Elka front shocks. Thanks to John at http://www.acceltechracing.com for spending the time to get them fitted properly.

Very nice. You will need to report back on the differences. What floats did you have on her and why did you go this way, did you find a handling issue before?

I had fox float3 non evol. So pretty basic shock. Honestly I’ve tried floats on my apex, nytro and Pro. I end up usually going back to the coilovers down the road. Just comes down to personal preference and coil overs are my go to. I hate the jar on the handlebars with rougher trails heading up to the alpine. I seem to find myself in the areas less traveled so groomers typically don’t exist.

Handling was fine with the floats forsure....

My testing has revealed the Elkas are rather stiff to make this chassis move around as we all know and love. I'd like you to keep your floats and go back and forth a time or 2 to understand the difference. Im not sold on any coilers at this point for Freeriding. If your a 24 year old Jumper like Hoyer or Matechuck then I get why you may want a different shock package. My 174 is done as well and Chad will try it this Weekend. Ive done the QS3 rear rear plus coupler mounted tight so I hope it stays planted on the vertical terrain and loose when freeriding.

The rear shock is still stock float 3 ...I havent decided what direction to go there...like the idea of the QS3 with QSL. I was leaning that way to avoid installing a coupler....... Want to keep the stock playfulness intact forsure. As for the fronts I will report back what changing these shocks have done on handling. I would like to compare them to the better QS3 instead of the fox 3, might have to track a set down. :rolleyes:

Incredible build Turblue, always wanted to try a sidewinder.... for now stuck on a turbo nytro! :behindsofa:

Interesting to say that, i certainly loved my Nytro. One of the very best sled i have ever owned. Kinda missing it in a way, the Nytro had very unique traits that i really liked.

Don't get me wrong... love the sled. Kinda heavy tho, add in the fact that it's my first year sledding makes it a bit thougher in technical areas. ;) Otherwise no complaints!

The SW is heavy, same as the Nytro, just a different geometry so you as a rider don't feel it as much, but you still do if your going to compare to an 800 of any make.
Though the SW or a Nytro on boost will trump any 2 stroke 800 of any make...included one on boost.
