That's is standard practice when working in sensitive areas or in water. All oils (except motor) and greases must be safe for human consumption. No different than in food processing plants.

People rarely mention plastic which starts with the cracking of oil/ethane. Think how much people's lives revolve around plastic and where we would be without it.

Well, without plastics, we would be back to building out of wood and metals. and when the parts or pieces break/wearout, we would fix them and not just through it away.

How do the satellites for these self driving tractors get into space?

And the circuit boards, what are they made of?

How do people get to a different continent? I suppose you could sail, if you had a month to kill?

Rockets don't burn gasoline or oil.... Hydrogen and oxygen is what they burn.
Curcuit boards are made of fiberglass and copper....

Yeah sure they probably use some oil building these items, but you're stretching.
Surely there are better examples out there. lol

If JT wants to keep any auto industry in his backyard , he had better get on side with the keystone project ....
Trump would shut down imports in the auto sector in a heartbeat.
This guy won't flip flop around like Obama does ...,

There seems to be a lot of opinion here that a country should be run like a business and Trump will be a good president as he's a businessman. So why would be want more expensive Canadian oil instead of cheap middle eastern oil. Especially considering they've spent trillions in the last 15 years protecting the middle eastern supply?

Do you really think DT will support the Middle East financially?
Please , give me a break lol!

He will increase drilling in the US substantially..

The fact is,Obama has been anti oil, thus the needs for importing oil...
Hillary and Obama both shut down pipeline expansion.

Trump had nothing to do with that....might be one of the reasons he trounced Hillary .
You are aware of his opposition towards the ridiculous deal with Iran ?

What are you basing your claims off of that our oil is more expensive?
Curious?

With the Trump win and the probable departure from climate change and associated carbon taxes, Canada will really need to look at the $50/tonne carbon tax. This levy (50% increase in natural gas and electrical bills) will really challenge the Canada's ability to be competitive with the US.

If he follows business practice he will go wherever the product offers the best returns. Which actually could be Canada, my mistake, WCS trades lower than WTI and Brent but also contributes a lower margin and can require additional refining equipment. My claims were based on the fact WCS has higher extraction costs than Brent. No idea how the net margins after refining compare though.

Under Obama oil production increased significantly, fracing has taken off hugely in the US in the last decade. https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=pet&s=mcrfpus2&f=m

His mandate is USA first, I don't foresee that benefiting Canada
