Yanks are awash in their own oil and gas.
Us Canucks are sitting around playing pocket pool doing studies and playing nice with the Indians while we sit on product without access to a global market.
It's hard to fathom we started getting serious about LNG around the same time the US was talking about it, the US plant is operational, where's ours?
I don't think I'll see a pipeline in my lifetime for either gas or crude, the natives and special interest will tie it up in court for years.

Oil and gas is the biggest part of the Canadian economy and a significant contributor to the US. It will be back. There is no practical energy replacement for the near or distant future.

It'll be back, just not like it was. A replacement doesn't have to be practical or economical to replace O&G as long as there is retards in federally and provincially that are willing to spend tax dollars to support it.

Time to cash out and open a bait and beer shop in Thailand.

Your history is a bit off, first discovery in Canada is in the 1850's and its well over 100 years in Alberta.
I'm pretty sure with these discoveries back than people's way of living improved for more and more with the increased opportunities.

How many bushels per month to heat a house Freddo? Without O&G nobody lives north of Arizona. Ya, less than a century ago people survived...but there isn't the trees to keep everyone alive now.....

Plenty of trees, but I think if we are going that route we should stop protecting the stupid and let nature take its course in some aspects of life, i.e. if your walking down the train tracks and you get hit by a train because you have ear phones in no one should be allowed to give you CPR.
