Recent Bashing, Animosity towards certain vendors and information

Not sure what the intention of all this banter is about the Skidoo 2016 threads all the animosity towards certain vendors on this site. Firstly Martin Motor Sports is a large supporter of this site and without them and other large vendors such as Superclamp and Mountain Sports Distribution this site would not be here. If you have a dealer or vendor that you like and feel that they should be involved with this community then tell them about it, we would be happy to get them involved. Every dealer has there good points and bad ones. Some issues with dealers that we hear about on here can be true, or some times there is two sides to every story as well. We do our best to keep it down and assist not only Supporting Vendors but non-supporting vendors as well, no one needs to be bashed on the internet and if they are they should be informed at least. Moderation of any website is not an easy task, there's many people to keep happy, The members, vendors, non-vendors, the media, and the general public. Sometimes it a fine line with what is posted and if its moderated, some people get upset, tough to please everyone, we do our best to keep people happy. Also when your always posting negative responses and rude comments do you think this makes the site look bad, or yourself? This is a FREE service that is paid for by many vendors that provides all of you with valuable information and a link to many others with the same interests, why such negativity? I guess if we had some snow this would not be an issue or would it.

I say keep it clean don't bash and if the vendor has a side let's hear it. Without the vendor speaking up then it's one sided and the thread gets moderated leaving peeps frustrated. And there are some super moderators that take liberties 'just because'.

Ok, Soon enough all the patches and fixes will be complete, I have been working on things. There is a lot of fixing and updating the biggest roadblocks I've had is some of the modifications are no longer supported. So they have to be either replaced or manually updated. If I do too many changes people get confused so only so much at a time.

You want to eliminate all the pissin and moanin about S&M supporting vendors? Get rid of all of corporate supporters and make it a member funded site only. Yes, a fee for every user. Then all envolved can bash whoever they want. Guess what would happen then? Many fee paying users would wonder why there us no vendor support on S&M.
Pretty much a no win situation!! Again!!

I agree with what you have posted ron, I realize moderating the Internet is no easy task, I know I would not do it, but with that said there has to be a place where people can openly talk about "all" things, sponsoring dealers included.... Or else it ends up like politics.... Those with the most money win. I am a member of many forums from trucks to guns to fishing and hunting to house renos to stocks and I see it all over, .......bashers, .....negative people, I don't know what the answer is. But at the same time just because company "a" or company "b" Give money every month does that entitle them to be the only companies that are allowed to be talked about in a positive manner? If someone has an issue it should be allowed to be brought up, we have seen it before, the one sided unfounded allegations are usually uprooted by the members as most here are pretty common sense. If dealer a gives a better price than dealer b then it should be allowed here, just remember price is not always the final factor in a deal. I think this open attitude can only serve the members best in the long run. For example if dealer a is blowing sleds out the door at crazy cheap prices that is good for the consumer and will create competition, but it may come out that dealer a has crappy service or does something else that is not in the customers best interest... The only way for this to come out is through open discussion. If nothing bad is allowed to be posted about any dealers then eventually we will all be burned by a bad deal, and no one wants this to happen. Money is an evil thing that already drives our society in too many ways, let's hope it doesn't drive this forum to be a one sided advertisement for those that will pay for it. My 2 pennies, take it for what it cost me to post it.

I totally respect and appreciate the job you choose to undertake, but in this case don't agree.
Reality is some of the vendors you're talking about bring this type of response on themselves, then whine about it when theybrecieve the same treatment, you wanna tease have fun and beak, expect it back at ya. And i disagree , some people do deserve to be bashed on the Internet, whether they have purposely or inadvertantly caused a negative reaction in a customer, let em explain, we're not all to dumb to figure out based on the story who's bs'ing , who's sincere. If public accountability is an umbrella that you or any other mod , who naturally is somewhat motivated by keeping the advertising dollar income, can use to protect or shelter whoever in your opinion should have it, based on the stated belief that supporting or non supporting vendors Are always being disadvantaged by the bully's and negative nellies who are so prevalent on here, that's a kind of censorship I don't condone. I guess the hurt feelings report passed around so freely on here doesnt work for them. What if the mod is a buddy or has a long time relationship with one of the said vendors, or even if thats his brand of choice, human nature says there'll be favoritism. Thin skinned individuals motivated by monetary gains and protected by your type of governmental controls aren't my idea of sources I'd like to gain info from, I want to hear from both sides and if the vendors want to compare or compete verbally about their products on here let em, if they hate it they'll choose not to debate.
This BS notion that cause a vendor supports the forum I support , I should totally support them is a crock. They should earn it, and some on here I choose to support because of their actions and involvement on here , and some , because of their actions and comments on here I'll choose not to support, that's ONE of the reasons I'm on here.

I have no problem with moderating "bashing", because yes there is always 3 sides to a story. My issue with this site is the over moderation that is totally biased towards some supporting vendors. A thread doesnt even have to say anything bad about them....if it doesnt benefit them, or steers business away from them it gets deleted. Case in point, the skidoo price threads. Its fine if you want to set ground rules like no prices posted, no bashing, etc.....but to just delete the entire thread because people are talking about dealerships that are selling for really good prices? Thats fine if people want to shop local and build a relationship. Thats fine, it really is. But some people want to find the best deal. Too each their own. To completely delete these threads though is garbage IMO.
