I hope it is a good engine longevity wise. It seems like a nice improvement over the new cummins in the bigger trucks. It seems like it would be a good engine in a 1ton for a guy like me that doesn't haul a lot and uses it for a daily driver.

my 13 6.7 3500 long box crew cab empty, to rocky and back I got 11.2l/100km or ~ 25 imperial mpg

My 2010 3500 mega cab 6.7 with DPF delete but stock cat and muffler also gets these types of numbers in the summer. Even got 26 mpg Imp. a couple times. This is hand calculated with speedo correction. Also tall 2.42 gearing has this engine sitting at 1600 rpm at 118 kph.

I got the 3.42's in the rear of mine, it is not deleted but uses DEF, these numbers were not hand calculated this is based on the onboard computer, but none the less I was happy with those numbers.

I had an ecodiesel out for a test drive the other day and sadly it was underpowered. I was in Peace River and climbing the hill south out of town and it didn't perform well imo.

When not perform well what do you mean? Wouldn't hold 110 km/h? Not familiar with that hill is it a 8%?

I cant say exactly what the grade of that hill is but its comparable to hill climbs on the trans can into BC. It would do the speed limit but stomping the throttle would only slowly increase the speed and there was little to no feel of being pushed back into your seat. Pulling a load (uphill anyway), i imagine, would be very disappointing.
Air ride suspension was "flagged by transport canada" and is not available until a later date...according to dealer. I wanted to check that out :(

I really wanted the air suspension, but did some reading online and it seems a lot of people were having grief with it in cold weather.

I stayed away fro the air suspension. I thought it rode like crap. I am going to eventually add some airbags to the back of mine but it really isn't needed. More of to have the headlights aim lower when needed.

Bought a '14 ram 3500 c/c s/b srw with the 6.4 hemi in it a month ago and now have 11000km on it and I'm quite happy with the mileage it gets. With all my work stuff in the back it's getting 14L per 100km at 120kmh but it goes to 20/100 at work due to idling and a bunch of running the gravel roads but hooked up to the loaded 32' holiday trailer it get 34/100. Miss the cummins for pullin the trailer. Just thought I'd add my 2c for the gas side. Hope it gets a bit better with a few more kms in it.

Have no complaints so far. Kamloops to edson at 110kph at around 2500rpm on the flats and hit 6000 on the hills pulling my 32' holiday trailer. And I think fully loaded trailer is around 11000lbs. You get funny looks from the sports cars when your passing them going up hill pulling a trailer.

Thanks for the post I'm looking at a 2500 crew 6.4 with the air rear suspension, I need more payload but was hedging based on classic 3/4ton gas mileage of 20/100. Last gasser I had was 06 2500hd 6.0, driving like a nanny I could get 17-18 /100 at best

Not to knock the diesel 1/2 ton but had a 14 hemi half ton 8 speed for a week approx 2000 kms and averaged 10.3 kms/100 and was quite impressed however i do admit my foot was probably a little lighter than in my 12 3500drw with 6.7 due to gas $'s were coming out my pocket

Buddy has a 14 1500 5.7 with 8 speed he says he's getting 13/100 average, seems dodge are shedding the chitty fuel mileage legacy.

Best combined mileage yet. Would have easily hit 1200 km on this tank. Installed a truxedo bed cover , not sure if that helped or also filled up at petro canada that tank and not co-op petro pass.

Well it's a good thing this truck gets wicked mileage , will help pay for the oil filters! $85 for a oil filter! They have a cartridge style filter, new to me. Anybody find any jobber filters for a better price?

What's the part number? Wix, Baldwin or fleetguard should have something comparable.
