Honda has it in the quiet 3000 model, and its still lighter than the 3000 yamaha that does not have it.

I love my Honda 2000 been using it non stop since 2012 all year round on trips, I have no idea how many hours that could be, one thing is I don't think most people change the oil in them enough 150-200 hrs

Another vote for the Yamaha here. Super tough and reliable. Always starts first pull. Have an older 2400hc. Runs Ac no problem

My parents had one of the champion 2000 watt units from Costco and it calved a top end with under 100hrs. It was quiet but not as quiet as the Honda 2000.

I tried a Chinese one years ago, the idle would surge up and down constantly drove us nuts, then it died thank god, wife screaming at peavey mart manager till he gave us our $900 back!

I have a Yamaha 3000 with the boost and remote start. Bought it new in 2015 and used it twice, then sold the 5th wheel. If anyone is interested in it give me a shout. Forgot I had it actually, sitting inside for the last 4 years. Hasn't been started since. The yamaha remote start was $700 back then.

My brother has one of these and he really likes it.

4 years on the champions , still run quiet , steady and quiet.
They are all made in China, including Honda. The 2000 has a timing belt which breaks and you’’re done.
I’ve rebuilt 3 Honda 3000 and one Honda 2000. Trust me , build quality leaves a lot to be desired. The replacement parts are straight from China.

Or get the valves adjusted at the required hours. Or clean the spark arrestor.

Using a honda 2000, it's able to run the a/c on the horse trailer. Just had to add a capacitor.

So it has a timing belt not Chain? That's crazy!I usually set my own valves on everything,but I won't bother doing anything like that to this guy,I'm going to sell it soon it has so many hours it's paid for itself over and over.

For all you folk with 2000w generators that want to run AC, there is a product (a capacitor i'm pretty sure) called Easy Start that you wire inline to your AC and you can run your AC off a 2000w generator. I haven't tried one myself as I have a built in 5500w but the dealer in Sylvan Lake said he has sold 40 of them and guys are having awesome luck with them in the states.

$450 at Sylvan Lake RV. Might save someone lugging around 2 generators.

Also I learnt a cool trick from arff for the honda 2000, you can run a auxiliary boat tank cause it has a fuel pump to run all weekend without filling or running out in middle of night really helpful in winter camping for me!

I been doing this for years. You can buy decent kits on line. With quick disconnects and all. I have an extra cap for when you don’t need this.

Thanks boys! The Yammi 2000is is 799 right now and the 2000ist which you can pair is 899. I don't have AC and the 9'6" doesn't leave much cargo hauling room besides under the table and aisle, or in the boat which leads me to the smaller frame units. I have a decent solar panel and 2x6V system with inverter but the wife wants to run a slow cooker, blender and stuff like that. probably use it most for an ice maker and charge the kids Audi R8 car lol


"suicide cord" to pair the non pairable? what's that look like?

A suicide cord is just what it sounds like, you take 2 normal 3 prong male 120 volt plugs and wire them both to a normal 30 amp 120 volt female plug. They are extremely dangerous however because if one plug is unplugged it is still live due to the other generator being hooked up. This is basically how the parallel kits work except they use a different plug to prevent electrocution.

These do not meet any electrical code, or any reasonable form of logic for that matter, but are effective.

They also must only be used on an inverter type generator with the same internals as a parallel ready unit.
