Harper is turning out to be a dud IMO. His secrecy is too much for this guy to feel comfortable running our country. Unfortunately we dont have any one else that is any better :(

I tend to agree. That and the whole deal with the Chinese. It would take 15 years to back out of any deal? How is this okay? We can get out of NAFTA in 6 months, should that be the decision.

We should be putting higher tarriffs on chinese ch!t, not lowering the bar for their entry into Canada. Least of all, they should not own a controlling stake in our resource companies.

I know you are dissapointed with the choices YOUR liberal party has offered, however don`t confuse that with the job Harper has done...
He is one of the best leaders in the world right now,as evidenced by Canada`s economy.......
Harper just tightend up the lending rule rules (ie 20% down) while in a majority goverment......Please get your facts straight. Right when the NDP and Libs were calling for MASS bailouts !!!! Worked real well in the USA.......??????
Around the time the Libs were so desparate they wanted to partner up with the NDP.........

In tough global economic times ,Harper has struck a great balance between spending and restraint unlike our friends to the south...

And please the "Harper is so scarry" stuff is so......Well just so tired, i have not seen armed soldiers in the streets in my town yet......

I think you gentlemen should enjoy it while it lasts, because with obama down south ,he could wipe out most of the north american economy with his financial miss management.....

I am just shaking my head at some of the B.S. that is getting spouted about. Obama wants what we have in Canada. Dignity. We have it in spades comparitively. I am amazed at the lack of compassion for the fellow man in the states especially Texas, they could care less if you died in a ditch. Replulicans want war so that they can profit from it, amazing how Bush's little cabal had more money leaving office than what they started with.
However most of the problem in the the states, is it is an all or nothing affair. Still love Canada far better and am proud to wear the Maple Leaf, yeah we pay lots in taxes, but I think it is still worth the freedom that we have here.
We pay alot of taxes because of our Phucked up Health Care !

First off. Have you been listening to trump. Obama is American. Always was American. They tried to find dirt on him and couldn't cause there isn't any. But it sure diddnt take long to prove Romney had tax free money throughout the world. The bailout of America is different than a family in debt borrowing more money. If America lost the auto industry and big banks they would hit rock bottom so fast and took us with them. The car was stalled. Obama push started it and now has 4 more years to get up to speed. I hope he can.

I bet you hope he can get it goin. Otherwise youll end up eating alot of rotten crow! Either way i think you're doomed

cant speak for others but during the last two elections Mr Harper got my vote. Hwvr, you are mistaken on Canada's economy. Western Canada's economy is not the same for the whole nation. Go east and lets see how "well" our economy is doing (I go there often and it is not rosy). Harper has been riding the coat tail of western Canada's resources so we have somewhat of a distorted view how well/not well things are going. Also, seems to me that Harper government did bail out the auto makers and created a stimulus package to the tune of 40 billion. Anyway, lets agree we are fortunate to live in this part of the world.

I think our health care system is in some trouble, but it isn't as bad as the way the US works theirs with private companies and the way their hospitals bill out services. just read a story where a guy got bit by a dog that didn't have up to date rabies shots and the hospital billed his HMO $25,000 for 4 series of injections. that's crazy

Ya america is in a sad state right now. We have had a house in Coeur d alene idaho for over 9 years now and ever since obama got in we have had nothing but rise in taxes and many other expenses that went up we have been negotiating selling our house down there just because of what the state of america is looking like. Healthcare in the states is a joke a friend of mine in utah was bit by a rattle snake hiking 3 years ago and was forced to pay for the anti venom they sent him bills monthly for it. Also when you look at The way politics are done in the states it is seeming to be more and more that if you have someone "imporant" like Jay-Z or Oprah or Clinton behind you that you are instantly gonna win forget having doctors or lawyers behind you cause hey obviously they arent as important as Jay-Z or Oprah WHAT A JOKE!

our health care is in trouble because the unions involved dont want it fixed and become efficient. If I have a problem with my foot I should be able to go to a podiatrist directly, but no we have to go thru our GP. That just added another cost.

Would you rather pay thousands of dollars for a cast if you're between work?

My old man worked for a health insurance company in the states. Doctors down there will push anything to make more money. "I think you need an MRI, you know, just to be sure" meanwhile, it's based on their profit motive. Bill more to insurance, and make a killing.

f@ck obama... f@ck the election either way you look at it the usa is a f@cked place.... BRING ON THE SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh sure be reasonable. I think we can all agree that we have different opinions on various subjects, but if we are just going to throw inflammatory comments about than we are no better than our friends to the south. And just for the record "I do get it", I have been involved in politics long enough to know that what we see is not what happens. You have people on one side that want a completely unspoiled enviroment, another group feels we should have better health care, another wants unfettered development, another wants more services and yet another group that wants less governement involvement who gets to win?? The trick is to get a slate of people who have no vested interest other than to make things better. But that is not going to happen cause those people don't make promises that they have no intention of keeping. They don't get elected. Politics is dirty and very complicated. This is fun.

Jay I'm not saying there Health Care is any better or would I want to live without it, I'm just stating our taxes are higher and cost of living in Canada is greater as Health Care costs so dearly to maintain and is corrupted by Unions etc.

exactly. our "free" health care is anything but free. we just don't pay for it at point of service.

I understand that, but let's be honest, our individual costs are going to be much lower if we spread out said costs among all the tax payers within the country.

Nothing is free, but I know I sure would prefer our system over the fawkshow down south.
