Just wanted to let everybody know that 7 of us were in McBride this weekend and rode Lucille on Saturday and Sunday. It was good to get out, but conditions were not that great. You could get up the trail easily, and up top there was some powder if you found the right spots but there were a lot of trees and rocks. Our buddy broke his trailing arm on Friday at Renshaw and put on a spare. On Saturday we had a good time and were still on the mountain at 8:00 pm and it was snowing really hard, and things were looking up. 30 minutes later we could see the stars though. On Sunday, our buddy did in another trailing arm on a rock just hidden in the middle of nowhere, so it cut our day short.

We still had a blast even though conditions were not the best. One foot of snow would even make a big difference, so hopefully one good dump will come along soon. If you want to get in some early riding you can make the best of the conditions just be careful because there are lots of rocks that are well hidden.

Just wanted to share these pics with everyone and give everyone who is on the fence about heading up to McBride an unbiased report as i know i take everyones reports on here with a 'grain of salt'.

We rode Lucille friday, it was pretty decent for early season. We heard Bell had better snow that night and rode there saturday and sunday and it was true. I would guess an extra foot at bell overall. It sure seemed like a few less rocks than lucille, however the trail up Bell sucked !!! Time to start grooming.
All my pics are from Bell saturday. By the end of sunday however it was pounded out pretty good, not much fresh left and i would guess the same for Lucille.
I honestly wouldnt head up unless it snowed at least 1.5 - 2 feet this week. 2' would definately cover up 90% of the landmines left up there.

Thanks to the boys who gave us the 'Wool-Sock' full of beer on saturday aft at the Bell cabin. That was very generous of you guys. Hope your pal who puked his teeth out into the toilet friday night is feeling better.....

Booze on the trail doesn't do anything for our sport!! All it does is give the government another excuse to close another riding area with the excuse that people aren't being responsible by not obeying the laws. The guy with the "wool sock full of beer" is probably the same guy who just crushes the beer can and throws it in the trees!! He is the guy who wrecks the sport for the rest of us!! just my 2 cents.

Not trying to be dink, but where are all you guys up at the cabin giving the 'Hollier than thou' speech to those of us enjoying a beer in their??
I have never heard of anyone come on here posting: "Guess what, some guy approached me in the cabin and gave me a piece of his mind about having a beer......" But it seems like every couple weeks a guy talks about having a couple beers and the 'Booze Police' show up on the forum.

I had two beers all day while riding and yes, i packed out what i packed in.

This moral issue seems to be split down the middle and will get talked about until we are all blue in the face without resolution. If your that concerned maybe you should react on the mountain instead of on a forum.

I hope you guys on here that are giving us guys trouble about drinking have never yourselves had 1 beer and drove your truck or car around town because its the exact same thing, a motor vehicle.

Just my 2-cents.........

This thread is about conditions. Lets get back to them.

I guess the majority of sledders are ruining the sport then, from what I've seen, although truthfully I've never seen anyone wasted on the hill yet. We're all bast@#*s I guess.

Just so you Know it was my group that had them and all that came in came out with us and no one was out of control. We are on holidays as well as when you go! The guy who was puking left the mountain because he had the flue! So if you think that he got so drunk he was puking you can shove it!

Thanks
