Not going to call this a build thread, as this sled will not be budget killer. Going to do a “few” ad ons. Installed a Jaws can to drop off a few easy lbs so far. Just started cutting and clipping my Aplha track that I had laying around and replacing the 2.75” . Next on the to do list will be clutching. The sled over revs horribly at 8700. Will get Ben at SRP to install his clutching next

So far with one trip under our belt the 9R is pretty impressive. My alpha is about 2 mph faster on climbs than the stocker. Pretty sure after clutching they will be close.

Is the performance gain of the 9r worth the potential reliability issues, or is the 850 close enough that the performance loss is worth the reliability?

Yes 325 miles on mine so far zero issues. I check it over after every weekend and the clutch bolt torque hasn’t backed off one bit. That’s the only reliability issues that I know of

If you put a p85 on that fixes most of it. That little bit of extra oomph in the 9r is worth it imo.

I think the 9R engine has proven to be a winner over the 850 for longevity. Clutch bolt is a different story.

2024 and this year have way tighter collar tolerances, no more floppy inner collar.
Factory bolt is fine, all you really need is the P22 coupling sleeve from Carbon Sled.
About $250 and the P22 will be fine.
More weight to knock the revs down some and done for long term.
They just need to be run 3000km to confirn in field results.
The good thing about the 9R is SRP has several option to reallly bump up the performance.

Have you considered making a punch out of a short section of pipe and using a press?

Anyone ever publish a real world HP # on the 9R vs the Polaris 850. Like same year on both motors completely stock. Don't want to compare someone's uncles 850 that may have had some porting. Just out the crate apples to apples number?
