30" tires with no paddles works best. Once the snow is deep you dont wanna chew to the bottom. A half bald big horn type tire with ice racing screws.

But when you get stuck with a blad tire you have less chance of getting out

The widest square cut tire you can find, and fit on the quad, with studs. Car tire studs work fine on a solid lug.
