probably no news on penalties until Tue or Wed, i have a feeling Truex will be hit hard as NASCAR really doesn't like teams messing with the the cars aero.

I was impressed with how the track handles the crowd, after the dual we were back at our place within an hour of when the race finished. Track was probably 1/2 full for that race but it looks like they were only using about 1/2 the available stantions which are used to organize fans waiting for buses to get to lot 7 parking (farmers field about 3 miles from the track) Also hats off the the friendly people working at the track.

Congrats to Junior and Kyle Busch winning both the Can Am Duels. Here were the top 5 fastest cars in todays Happy Hour final practice: 88-22-21-2-41.

Nice story out of the garage after the duels Thursday night. After Kurt Busch was caught up in a crash all the SHR crews worked hard to get the primary car back in shape so they wouldn't have to go to the backup car and start from the rear of the field. Running out of time Joe Gibbs Racing came to the rescue and sent a crew over to re wrap the car for the race tomorrow. Thats why they call Nascar a big family I guess. Different team and different manufacturer to the rescue.

I think Joe Gibbs is a great guy, would like to meet and have beers with him but at our age we are more likely to drink something that is good for our prostate. Really sad (and weird) what happened to his son. Roger Penske would be another guy that would be cool to talk to - what a resume in racing he has.

interesting, Hendrick 66 years old, Gibbs 75, Penske 79, Rousch 73, Childress 70 - talk about all those drivers who in the last part of their career, what about owners!! who is going to step up in the next 5 years as these guys step away

People might not have thought about the next generation of owners. But I'm doubting it'll be owner with the same last name as what's out there now. Stewart Haas is gonna be a major player and is up and coming. No word for sure but I can see Jr motorsports going to the cup series. Also what's gonna happen to barney vissors team out of Denver? What about BK motorsports? Lots of unknowns but I'm sure change will be coming!

Ok 4" but closest finish in Daytona history over Truex. Was .01 of a second and no big one today?

Was an great exciting finish.
Kinda like that new "overtime" rule. See how well that plays out during a race.

I was really pullin' for truex, thought he actually had it till the replay. He was was in good spirits for such a heartbreak. Classy guy and him winning would have been a huge feel good story for all he's been through.

Sure glad they ran green all the way to the scheduled distance rather then wrecking last lap or having to use the new GWC rule. All and all a good race
