So here's some pics of one of my sleds that the daughter drove on one of the last trips last year to mcbride...... She left the park brake on, and it got hot enough to cause a small fire. The sled stalled and she noticed smoke coming out of the right side, and luckily i was right behind her in blackwater on the trail in the trees, so we threw lotsa snow into it to put out the small fire and cool things down -- could have been a lot worse!!!..... Rewind rope melted, oil bottle melted, steel braided brake hose melted and wiring melted.... And we had to tow it out without brakes etc..... So here's what it looks like now. Still have to pull the jackshaft out and chaincase off, so i can replace the upper chaincase seal(probably heat damaged from the red hot brake rotor..... Pads are badly heat checked and caliper seals are melted....otherwise it could have been a lot worse:

hopefully she doesn't feel too bad :( it's a common mistake. Like already said, it could of been worse besides you needed something to work on right before the season starts :d to get you stoked...

Rick a Muffpot really works better to cook your smokies rather than roasting it on the brake rotor.Just saying..

My better half did the same thing on her doo second ride out. We caught it at the smoke phase and got lucky. I couldn't totally blame her, as one of my buddies had got her out of a stuck and put the brake on when he parked it. She didn't know to check. She does now.

that's what happened to her too..... She nosed into the blackwater creek in renshaw, up blackwater meadows area, and when we got her out, someone(and it could even be me) put her park brake on, and she never realized.... We were going up to the ant hills, above the meadows, and travelling slowly through the trees, when she noticed the smoke
