So here's some pics of one of my sleds that the daughter drove on one of the last trips last year to mcbride...... She left the park brake on, and it got hot enough to cause a small fire. The sled stalled and she noticed smoke coming out of the right side, and luckily i was right behind her in blackwater on the trail in the trees, so we threw lotsa snow into it to put out the small fire and cool things down -- could have been a lot worse!!!..... Rewind rope melted, oil bottle melted, steel braided brake hose melted and wiring melted.... And we had to tow it out without brakes etc..... So here's what it looks like now. Still have to pull the jackshaft out and chaincase off, so i can replace the upper chaincase seal(probably heat damaged from the red hot brake rotor..... Pads are badly heat checked and caliper seals are melted....otherwise it could have been a lot worse:
