Re: Must be nice to be Privileged.

The wife was just bitching about this story. I don't really care either way. If they want to ride without one it doesn't bother me. I have been riding many years on the street and around here I would still wear one even if it wasn't law. I have ridden in a few states that don't have helmet laws and not wore one and have ridden in these same states with a helmet. If I was a die hard not wanting to wear one myself I might be upset.

I wear one just the same as you. Bottom line, why is it fair that these people have more rights and freedoms because of "religion" while others do not. And then they wonder why they are discriminated against.
Remember, they also are exempt from wearing one on OHV.

If that Jenner dude can identify as a woman, identifying as a Sikh shouldn't be a stretch...... No such thing as privilege unless you're white, don't you watch CBC?

Re: Must be nice to be Privileged.

This is bs. I’ll ride this year with no helmet and see what happens. Give me a ticket because I don’t wear a turban? In Canada? I don’t f***ing think so.

I also prefer helmet use but around town if a turban wearing Sikh can go without helmet then so can any other motorcycle license holding citizen.

Also want to say I have zero conflict with any religious beliefs or practices, but once you’ve removed a general safety law for some due to religious belief it has to be for all or it’s discriminatory. Flip side: I’d like to carry a concealed weapon, so could I gather enough Canadians who don’t believe in or associate with any religion to band together on (un)religious grounds to that effect?

We all know the answer is no, but what’s the difference? Swap concealed weapons with unrestricted fishing, hunting etc. and it’s still a one-sided, knee-jerk response to a larger problem.

Oh Canada....

The problem with inclusion is where does it end? If a Native can they go with a head dress? If a Jew does the cap suffice?

Id love to be able to ride around town with no helmet for a quick trip on a hot day.

You are correct sir. It all about the principle. When will it stop. I’m all for zeeks riding without a helmet. In your own country. What about me. What about everyone else that has to wear a helmet. So you don’t like the Canadian laws? Move. In a country we’re safety is a very big deal how does this chit pass. I’d like to propose a new law. No zeek should drive a vehicle on the Hiway in the winter. There a danger to society. My family and friends. All of them. When do we propose that law? Seeings how we’re just passing all kinds of garbage now.

With the amount of deaths an Alberta on motorcycles why would you want to ride without a helmet?
This is discrimination IMO.
It should be all or none.
Helmet laws are there for a reason. What is a turban going to do to protect a rider when he crashes, and no offense but many drivers from other countries have very different driving habits. Accidents are gonna happen with new motorcycle drivers.
Come on Alberta, get your head on straight.
