I was thinking about that while reading this thread yesterday. I would think they already have a way to dodge liability if the rider isn't wearing the required safety gear. ...much like they can if a driver isn't wearing a seat belt.
I about if your in an accident with one and he dies?

Might not have died if he was wearing a helmet but now you are facing manslaughter........

Lawyers will have a hay day with this.

I had not heard this before. Can't call you out on it since I don't know myself, but there's no way an industrial or commercial construction site would permit someone not wearing a hard hat.

Residential maybe..

We have many come out to our plant(truck drivers). We have a policy that we have to wear hard hats. When they show up and walk through our warehouse we can only stand by and watch. Working on signing waivers or contacting dispatch to remove that driver from the haul list.

I didn't read through this thread but has anyone made a comment as to how insurance companies feel about this

Apparently, they are monitoring this but say it's too soon to tell if this will affect our premiums.
