However it has nothing to do with what you are squabbling about. I personally find the plan Enbridge has complicated and costly for no real benefit. They can just as easily build a line to run to Vancouver and avoid the inland port of Kitimat.......

Overall my general impression from the cross section of posters in this thread is the majority of Albertans feel its their god given right to pound a pipeline through the heart of BC, risk or no risk, not their problems. So far NOBODY has given me one reason why it would be good for BC, one way to show the risk reward is enough to take the risk. Great for Alberta, so we should bend over and take it up the azz. What people dont seem to realize is the more they put forward that type of attitude, the more people of BC are going to resist.

Now that I can understand. I still want Alberta's oil to make it to whoever is going to buy it.... Don't get me wrong. My pipedream was moreso focused on refining it here and sending it as finished product to the end user..... But since that probably won't happen in my lifetime, selling the oil is still priority.

All you have to do is watch the video on Enbridges own site to see how goofy they are being. So let's hire a guide and two tug boats for every single tanker to navigate the inland port taking an entire day to do so....... Hmm, that's efficient and a great use of equipment and manpower. I am sure that all the guys manning the tugs and the guide work for free...... and the tugs themselves cost nothing to operate. But quoting some of my favorite videos on Youtube regarding Kearl lake ( spoof of course), " We are big oil, what can they do?"

Or you could go to a coastal port that although not inland has existing infrastructure to export oil via tanker. It's more like Enbridge just wants to go to Kitimat to say they can........

Realistically no one wants the oil....... not Vancouver, not Kitimat, not anyone. I probably will see the Gateway go through because it has government backing no doubt from lined wallets. But just because they can doesn't mean it's not the best way. I am sure the fight with Vancouver is congestion and of course denial....... But really for any doubters, just look at Enbridges plan and try and make good business sense of it.

Yes, one day when your bored, go to google maps, locate Kitimat, click on terrain, then scroll out and look at the inlet they expect super tankers to pass through. I have been on it a few times fishing and there are spots that really make you wonder how bright these people are. I cant see how they can travel at more than a few km's per hour, and its a long trip out.
