Chew on that map for thoughts. They aren't all oil of course, but my is there a lot of them, lol. My "backyard" is already full of pipelines and I don't worry about it. And since no one can or will read, no I don't really support gateway either as I previously mentioned. But it's not a fear of pipelines.....

I have never said you cant read and respect your opinion as that is what make a healthy debate. My point is we dont need it, wont profit from it, dont want it, and have an elected official that wont let it go, if she thinks about it she will be removed from that position.

You already have multiple pipelines across BC..... I really don't care what company owns it, blaiming one company is not an answer. Every company has just as much of a chance of having leaks or operator error. Welcome to reality.

"Every company has just as much of a chance of having leaks or operator error". You fail to account for the difference between companies, some actually care and carry out the necessary preventative maintenance to reduce the chance that these catastrophes will occur while others could care less and are more interested in doing the bare minimum and putting all the money they've saved into increasing share value. No, their chances are not equal by a long shot.

You can think that if you really like and it makes you sleep more soundly. All the preventative maintenance in the world won't fix an operator screwing up on the panel, a maintenance guy not doing his job etc. Ultimately, as mentioned before, you make a lot more money with the product in the pipeline and not on the ground. Increases in share value usual is a reflection of how the company is doing on the market. That doesn't include major catastrophic spills......

Most, actually hell, all companies operate as cheaply as they can get away with. It's just that getting away with part that may bite them in the @$$. I have worked for most major oil companies in this province and found little difference when it comes to preventative maintenance.... Unlike a lot of "company men" I hold loyalty to no one particular company..... well, that's a lie as I guess I am loyal to the one I own, lol. In saying that I try and maintain neutrality when I view companies..... and they are all cheap, it's the name of the game.

Initial construction is sometimes a gamble, I can agree there. Slap it together under budget, get your bonus and let the maintenance side pay to make it actually function. Then when it fails multiple times and sits like a big white elephant you wonder why your share price keeps dropping..... HMMMM.......

Why is it that Enbridge is always in the press? Do they just own that much pipe? Ruptures VS Meters of Pipe? those would be some interesting numbers! No?

Just as of lately, yes they are. Becomes a lot more noticed and media publicized expecially when they are the card carrier of a major proposal with an exceptional level of opposition..... Otherwise I doubt they would go noticed, as much anyhow. Google "major pipeline oil spills" and you get a myriad of all the big players. Plains Midstream, Enbridge, Kinder Morgan..... all have fairly major spills behind their names.

The whole spill ratio based upon actual owned footage could be a neat stat.... but not one I have access too.

Next time you are talking to "her" ask her if she has had a chance to look at all those letters the good peeps of the Revy snowmobile club sent her last winter. If she has time to get her fawking head out of the sand that is.

Thats a good point because the Pembina pipe line system has has 2 pipeline failures and are hauling NGL to Fox creek and no word on the news about it. Most likely they are not appling for new pipeline anywhere focus on Enbridge.

BC government went back on there word in regards to agreed land closures. Revy club fought it to no avail. Revy club asked for all members and all sledders that ride in Revy to send letters to Miss Clark but after a huge response we still have not heard from her. Thats the short story anyway.

I have also worked for most of the oil companies in my province and have done so for over 30 years so my comments are also coming from experience. I've never owned an oil company though :) very nice.
