Mac users new software.....

Is the new OS X Lion browser package worth the upgrade? Just seeing what everyone else out there is doing. Thanks, fs

For $30 (or so) you can't really go wrong. I'm looking at getting a new Mac that will come with it so I haven't updated my current one. Seems like some nice new features though.

I haven't seen it, but if it is anything like the Snow Leopard upgrade, they can keep it.

Upgraded 2 of my 3 and I prefer the one that isn't upgraded. But then I don't really like change...lol

It it be fair to say, "the new upgrade is more for the younger generation" with all the finger scrolling, manipulating, etc. and full of apps?

What apps would a guy in the boondocks need on a home computer?

While i haven't really used the other 2 computers much, when I do I end up yelling profanities at it because if I put my finger on the wrong part of the mouse the screen changes. LOL Of course I am used to moving the mouse to the upper right to get the calculator, well it didn't work and it took me a bit of time and some awesome swearing to get back to where I originally was. Yes there are more features that are designed to make organizing your work easier, from what I can see. Now as with all new things it takes time to get used to it, and I am sure there are many more profanities about to be screamed at both the macs...lol As always I will SLOWLY learn to use the new features and probably like them. As for whether the new features are aimed at the "younger generation" ummm yeah as everything is now...LOL

Still wouldn't trade my macs in for any PC!! Have one PC left in the house and it's a P.O.S. JMHO :d

I was in the Apple store yesterday and used the new system (OS X Lion). They also had a (new to me) "track pad".

The big plus is that you can have multiple screens open and flip back and forth quite easily. They have incorporated more functions into the mouse or into
the "track pad". Single finger touch, two finger touch, etc. I don't know if I like the finger directed cursor; I had one on a laptop PC a few years back
and I couldn't get used to it.

The track pads are $70 and about 4" square and sit at the same angle as the small keyboard.

Maybe I'll keep chatting and see what people thinking in a few months of it being out there and just concentrate on
a new ETEC.....

I just upgraded my MacBook Pro and love it. The finger swipes on the touch pad are great you just need to go into your properties and select what you want the finger swipes to do is all and that way you don't get it doing the things you don't want.

Way faster operating system it's like my whole computer woke up again.

I am liking the upgrade, like the new track pad features, very handy.
