So..sled is still in pieces but I gotta give a HUGE thanks to Clint and Brett Turner for helping me with my track and suspension. What I love about these guys is they won't just do everything for me, they explain it and I do all the work (with some help for muscle). I'm sure it's frustrating them to watch me fumble about but I really appreciate it. Same goes for any and all the guys that have helped me with any of the projects; Daynon, Rob, Danny, Will, Paul, you guys are all great. :)

I pressed my own drivers last night, put on the new sliders, got the skid bolted in and discovered that the extroverted drivers were hitting the tip of my skid. So I took off the (sorry for lack of technical terms) plastic black nubs on the end of the skid, going to hack on the metal bit that holds them on, put in an anti stab kit and Clint is being kind enough to weld on some new things that hold the limiter straps into place as the stock things slice the ever loving s**t outta the straps.

So here's the list of things my sled has been through since summer...
- rebuilt primary clutch and cleaned
- cleaned secondard
- had oil pump rebuilt
- new engine
- new recoil x 2
- new bumper x 2 <--soon to be x 3...lol
- new limiter straps
- anti stab kit
- "new" used track
- new sliders
- new kill switch
- better boards

What has everyone done to their sleds this season?! Is the list never ending like mine?! :p

Hope everyone has a kick @$$ Friday!!  Hoping to wrench on the sled tonight!

In for a quicky, when i put my extroverts in i just cut everything back about 1-1/2" and re-installed black cap, looks just like factory. Here's a pic all completed.

I thought I was real smart this year with having a new sled = very little or no maintenance. I was wrong, I have two sons who ride with me and maintenace is not in their vocabulary and it drives me nuts when they do not maintain their sleds or vehicles: They just want to put the throttle to the bar and drive:eek:

I went out to the garage, looked at both sleds, said F-it, and went back inside.

If I ever find the motivation:
Sled #1
-Cromo tube back half
-162 skid, even with the turbo I don't think the 583, will have enough for a 174.
-track
-EFI conversion (probably mega squirt)
-Turbo
-Cromo control arms
-Drop and roll
-Extro's
-Motor mounts
-Bars
-Risers
-Both primary and secondary clutches

Basically build a mod sled, out of the wedge.

Sled #2
-Maintenance
-New front shocks and springs
-Alignment, possibly some new tie rods (kinda got bent up)
-Clean clutches
-Figure out why it won't run for more then a couple seconds at a time
-Probably a lot of re wiring to fix above.
-Risers
-Tube running boards if I some how end up with a lot of extra time

Sled number two is the problem when you buy junk, it takes a lot of time. Sled number one, is what happens when you have an obsession with mod wedge chassis sleds.

Rowdy, keep an eye on your y-pipe bolts as they will loosen off, change your chain oil before next season and inspect your chain and depending on the oil you use don't forget to clean your rave valves every year or so. :)

Don't you worry there bud, already experienced the Y pipe bolts disappearing. Nord Locks took care of that problem. :) Chain case oil already changed as well, and I will buy a new sprocket and chain this summer. Rave valves cleaned when new engine went in  thanks tho!! :)

Nord-Lock washers will keep your y pipe bolts from loosening off. Foothills Fasteners in Calgary sells them. Some of the fastenals stock them as well.

Ya I've got a box of Nord Locks. They work awesome. PITA to get the Y pipe off now, but I'd rather that than them back off!

I have a list too long to show...from new top end to re-attaching my secondary and new primary to polishing my tunnel and all the add-on's in between! Martin's Edmonton saw my sled nearly every week! Lol! 2300 KM's this season! My seld has 3800 KM's on it and now its a "beater"! LOL!

It's never bad money spent when it's on your sled!
