I hate trying to pick the best of the worst. I do know I don't like what harper has been doing, but who can trust the rest to do any different?

I understand why people feel the way they do about Harper, but stop and think about it for a minute. He's had to run one of the longest minority governments in the history of the country. Canada is poised to come out of the world wide recession in the best shape out of all the G8 countries. How about we give the guy a shot to run this country with a majority parliament? I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but maybe some of those muppets down east will start thinking this way.

Ignatieff is following right along in Trudeau's shoes. NEP 2 on deck if those clowns form government.

The word coalition wasn't scary enough. I wondered how long it would be before some dunderhead trotted out the old NEP.........

What has communism got to do with our election? Even the most socialist of our parties (with members elected) isn't anywhere near communist.

NDP is pretty close. They are all about wealth redistribution. The Liberals have no real substance. I wish that people would choose to empower themselves and not rely on social programs. Don't get me started on the unions. I wish that conservatives had a majority so that they could actually look after their business.

Let's be honest there are only two legitamite parties in Canada the Liberals and the Conservatives. The NDP communist scum who punish anyone who tries to get ahead in life and business owners. The bloc should not be allowed to run since they only care about Quebec. So Let's do a breakdown here.

With Conservatives we get:
A leader with experience
An Alberta boy who wont punish the oil industry an cost western Canadians jobs
Someone who will try to lower taxes
Someone who will cut unnecessary social programs
Someone with the balls to put money into our military
Someone who had a plan to eliminate our deficit in 3 years

With liberals we get:
Higher income taxes
Possibility of a GST hike
More wasteful social programs handing out our money
More crappy CBC programming:mad:
A leader who moved to the US and called it "his" country
Openly criticized Canadians while living in the US
A party that tried to create a coalition to take over goverment
A party that has forced several elections costing huge tax dollars taken away from where they should be spent

Now you make the choice

My choice? Nestor Pistor for Primeinster!(I really hope someone knows what I'm talking about there)

With Conservatives we get:
A leader with experience
An Alberta boy who wont punish the oil industry an cost western Canadians jobs (An Ontario Boy, moved to Alberta)
Someone who will try to lower taxes (Tax sharing plan saves about $60 per year for people earning under $135,0000.00 a year. 71% of the tax savings from this plan go to people earning over $150,000.00 a year)
Someone who will cut unnecessary social programs (please elaborate. are corporate taxes a social program? because thats what Harper is cutting)
Someone with the balls to put money into our military (37 Billion dollars on planes? put the money on the ground where it's needed)
Someone who had a plan to eliminate our deficit in 3 years (The man that created the deficit, Liberals ran deficit free for several years before Harper took over)

With liberals we get:
Higher income taxes(For the wealthiest people)
Possibility of a GST hike(No GST hike)
More wasteful social programs handing out our money(Please elaborate)
More crappy CBC programming:mad:(I like CBC , contrary to what Sun media would have you believe, it's good to have a broadcaster that isn't beholding to corporate sponsors)
A leader who moved to the US and called it "his" country.(BLAH BLAH BLAH Get a life. Heaven forbid you go somewhere else to broaden your educational horizons)
Openly criticized Canadians while living in the US. (Please elaborate. although I do know that as a country we are above criticism)
A party that tried to create a coalition to take over goverment.(Exactly like Harper when Paul Martin was PM)
A party that has forced several elections costing huge tax dollars taken away from where they should be spent. (You are just making up chit now,Harper called the last election because polling numbers were up and to prevent his own fixed election date bill from becoming law)

Now you make the choice

My choice? Nestor Pistor for Primeinster!(I really hope someone knows what I'm talking about there)
Looks like you get your information from the Sun and David Rutherford. But you are voting in Alberta so it doesn't really matter. They won't gain more than one seat here.......:beer::beer:

Don't get me wrong as I don't have any warm and fuzzies over Iggy but Harper is not exactly smelling roses either. He is the same guy that told Bush that he was embarrassed as a Canadian to not join in the war in Iraq. Also, sounds like he too played with the idea of a coalition with NDP/Bloq. Bottom line all these guys are there for their own self fulfilling egos and power trips and will do anything to stay there at the peoples expense. Now time to have a beer after that rant :d:beer:

The Conservatives represent my family's best interest. The represent the country's best interest. They are about the people, not the government. They lower taxes. They do away with frivolous spending. They will abolish the Fire Arm Registry for hunters and farmers. They will cut useless programs that waste money. They will encourage companies to set up shop in Canada which leads to jobs. They do not rob Peter to pay Paul. More jobs for Canadians means more income for everyone. They have discipline in their spending. They believe in justice for victims where by criminals are treated as such. They have values that never change. Although their priorities change as situations dictate. My vote goes to the Conservatives. I just hope they finally get a majority now that they have proven to even the east that they kept Canada ahead of the curve even in the most dire times. They should be proud of what they were able to accomplish.

Yes it is. I for one am sick and tired of paying for a lot of these social programs, nothings free it's costing tax payers WAY to much money. The gov't spends way to much on them, just like healthcare. Far as i'm concerned spending on healthcare should be cut by atleast 1/3 in the next few years. I will say one thing i've liked is the GST reduction, but it makes PC look bad because it means less revenue coming in, but defiantly a plus of them being in power.

In no way i'm defending the PC but comparing a party who has a minority is a lot different then a majority. They have to change a lot of things they want in order to get them through.

I will say PC does not care about people, nor does any party.

so um the number might be real or cooked. They do however reflect that the Cons had to spend money to keep us on top in the worst recession since the 30's. Yes on top, we weathered the USA downfall better than anyone else in the world, while being the closest to the morons.
Dont get me wrong im still voting for the potheads but Harper did get us through a rough time. JS

The main reason that we weathered the recession is that we had a well regulated banking system, something the Conservatives were against. Government interference in the free market and all

I have never heard of any party being against our banking system. If so it would be all over the radio, cause as you said it was a huge part in saving our a$$. And the attack adds would be all over that like a fat chic on Maxwell!!

I guess I need to stop hiding what I am really feeling. I am so sick of society today. No accountability. No responsibility. Always expecting a hand out. Let me list the things that bother me:

- "I feel insecure. It's my parents fault I do drugs" These people need to go to jail. These people know that drugs are wrong. They are more than just illegal. They ruin lives. (I am not talking about weed) Although weed is not healthy for a person either. I am talking about crack heads. The ones that break into people's houses in the middle of the night to steal to support their habit. The ones that turn honest law abiding people like me in to criminals when they sneak into my home in the middle of the night and get shot by my shotgun that the government wants me to register. They need to be locked up and given hard labor. They don't deserve the same rights as people that contribute to society. Those rights should be earned.

- "I overspend so much that my wife and I both work double shifts in order to pay for all the crap that media tells me I need"

- This way we can't afford to have a stay at home mom or dad to teach our spoiled kids values. With both parents forced to work, it's no wonder that affairs are so common. Which leads to divorce. We get to pass this character building down to our little bastard children who will repeat the process and probably much earlier as teen pregnancy is on the rise from all the daughters out their being raised without a father.

- Hey let's vote liberal so we can fix the problem by making it easier to get the government to pay for day care and when it's not convenient abortions.

- That's ridiculous you say. I know what you mean. We are actually curing that problem now more than ever with all the EMO kids out there sliding down the big rainbow. Good on us for supporting and encouraging all the gay pride. All these lost teens just waiting for a new identity to find. One of the reasons for the ever increasing rampant homosexual society is all the kids that we raised in those great daycares instead of on our own with a mom and a dad. Don't get me started on parents not spanking poorly behaved children.

- Don't trust the liberals, OK, I understand. Vote NDP cause maybe the solution is that we should all quit our jobs and tell the banks that were stupid enough to lend us money on our word to get rocked and the government can pay all our loans back for us and give us all student loans and welfare cheques so that we can go to university and major in 17th Century French Poetry or dance. Then the government owned CBC can pay us all ridiculous money to produce and star in our own pathetic TV shows that we will be forced by the government to have polluting our government filtered tv channels.

Let's get rid of our vehicles , cause there won't be any mechanics to fix them and they just make pollution anyways. If there was a mechanic, the bill would be outrageous from all the Communist NDP tax it wouldn't be worth fixing anyways. Although if you wanted to have your very own automobile, you had better try to fix it cause you know that you would never be able to afford a new one cause the cost of a new vehicle built in a Union plant (which they all would be if NDP couldn't make them government owned and operated) The poor automobile company having to pay the union wages would have to strip money out of the quality of their product by buying cheaper materials and putting all their R and D into more friggin filters rather than better bearings in order to cost effectively compete globally with the other manufactures of the world.

You know what makes me even more sick?

It's the silent majority that would rather politely lose this country to the cultures from all of the countries around the world that immigrants are fleeing from. I have nothing against immigrants. I accept you all, I just don't accept your cultures. Leave them when you come because Canada is more than just a chunk of land that you set foot on. Canada is property of Canadians. Canada is a Culture. When you get on board, you are getting on board with our values and our culture.

It wasn't until Rome had lost touch of the heritage that made them great did it fall. Our society has lost the values of our heritage. Just like making a great soup, if you let too many cooks throw too many weird spices in, it will lose all of it's simple taste that made it great.

haha that was quite the rant.

it doesnt matter who you really vote for.
The ONLY thing that matters is to make an INFORMED decision, put those emotions aside, look at the facts, and chose the party that represents you best

The problem is not whether he/she voted liberal/con/ndp/green/independant
the problem is BLINDLY following the guy who has the bigger finger to point at others with.

I tell you one thing tho.. you are talking about having less money/spending more... obvious problem
the cause of which came with the rise of the dual income family
Don't get me wrong ladies, i love having you around the office for eye candy alone haha.
but it's getting increasingly harder to have a single income family with a stay at home parent... which forces a lot of families to have that dual income and sacrifice their kids to the daycare system.

My uncle bought a house in the 70's for 25,000$.... i bought mine at 315,000$ in 2010 and i got a steal, so in 30 to 40 years housing prices for a comparable house have shot up over 1200% (or 12 times the price) thats an increase of 31% every year for 40 years (its early my math could be so wrong lol)

and the ONLY reason for that are dual income families, because lets face it, wages havent gone up 31% a year for 40 years lol

and thats MY rant lol

Riffrraffing that post was well said.

What next. Of course the cost of buying a house and buying anything has increased beyond imagination after more than 30 years of Liberal rule. This country is bursting at the seems with taxes to pay for a the social programs that the Liberals and their buddies NDP have created over the years. Oh ya and the Liberal platform for this election is to increase your taxes by another 6 billion bucks AND put a carbon tax on your gasoline. I for one can not imagine why anyone in this country would want to vote that party in.

My Vision of a Democratic Canada and a couple things that need to change to get there:

Thing one: Abolish the Bloc Party. No one province has any business trying to bloc the progress of this Country.

Thing two: Abolish the Upper Chamber. Why do we need appointed Senators to make decisions on policy and law making at huge expense to Canadians? I really don't know why the elected MP's can't do this job.

Thing three: No more minority governments. The party who garners more than 50% of the votes of Canadians should govern for a period of exactly 4 years. The PM nor the other parties do not have the power to call an election any sooner or any later. If the citizens of Canada don't like the way the current government are running the country they can vote a different one in on the next election. This would ensure a working for you government and no more expensive interruptions or un-wanted coalitions.

Cheers.
