I hate trying to pick the best of the worst. I do know I don't like what harper has been doing, but who can trust the rest to do any different?

Harper hasn't been doing much of anything.... No PM has had power for so long and done so little.

BUT... maybe thats just what some of us want.

Just sometimes trying to keep being in power for the sake of power isn't a good thing, doing so makes one go against a lot statements he has made before had

they are a bunch of lame ducks! Cant stand none of them. They are all chasing the immigrant vote by promising them all sorts of BS. I guess the immigrants are easier targets and can believe their promises. Don't get me wrong, I think we do need immigrants but to give them taxpayer's money to get their accreditation to work in Canada is wrong. My father came from Europe in the 50's and was given nothing but the ability to built his future with hard work. And that he did. The Liberals want to allow reunification of immigrants parent's to come to Canada. Just what we need more pressure on the social and health care programs. Just my 2 cents worth

Booger never did answer...

Pretty sure I've made my feelings on welfare, the justice system and government in general pretty clear a few times on this site....

There are places in the world where people are forced to commit criminal acts in order to survive day to day life.....THIS IS CANADA.... we have one of the most complex over funded social welfare systems in the world THERE IS NO EXCUSE. few people should ever want for the basics of life (yes I know some fall thru the cracks but many are there of their own devices)

Based on our social structure our Justice system should be one of the most intolerant. the punishment should deter future criminal activity...Problem is most criminals never do receive incarceration and those who do take the opportunity to network with other criminals and hone thier skills.

Everyone is all hung up on the civil rights of the convicts....far as I'm concerned for the duration of their sentance they have forfitted those rights and liberties... If you want the same rights and liberties as the rest of us OBEY THE LAW, quite simple actually.

We have tens of thousands of able bodied criminals who's food, clothing and shelter is paid for by our tax dollars, I think it's only fair we should get some bennifit from those dollars. There is any number of public services which could be taken care of..... oh but what about the ones who pose a danger to society you ask????????? what do we do with agressive animals????? BINGO

I would take great pride in living in a country that does not take chit from anyone.........

That right there is the smartest thing I've ever seen you post.....Just sayin...

Jails should be run as a business..... your day is spent working.... 8am to 5pm at a minimum, if you want the "good food" you put in overtime to earn it, if you want to have TV access you earn it.....earn it...earn it.....earn it......

our society takes people who are too lazy to earn thier own chit and puts them into a situation where they are not required to earn chit.....

then when thier time is served they are expected to go back out into the real world and earn money for chit.....

the system is flawed.....

There was once a time when if you coulden't survive on your own you died.....

maybe a bit harsh... but darwin started it, not me....

tell that to china!

The Chinese communism system had to change years ago and only then did they see the prosperity they are currently experiencing. Keep in mind though our poorest of the poor in Canada dont live in conditions that half their population does. So not sure if I would welcome that here.;)

You said "institute more social programs for the non-working poor"

If the lazy fawks went out and got jobs us taxpayers wouldn't have to support them.
Definately agree that our convicts have it waaaaaay too easy.

and "democracy" hasnt changed?
everything needs to change in order to survive

Communism first changed when Stalin got in power back in the olden days, now communism had to change after that as well... its the way it goes, decades pass... people change, the wants and needs of a population change... therefore the government changes as well
same goes with our "democracies"

Communism stops encouraging competition because everything is government owned. Capitalism brings out the latest and greatest. Wanna play hard, gotta pay hard, gotta work hard.

If we where communists we'd all be riding Yamaha VK 540's.

What has communism got to do with our election? Even the most socialist of our parties (with members elected) isn't anywhere near communist.

true democracy has changed (not necessarily for the better) but IMO communism has had to make the biggest changes to adapt to the new world. Even Cuba is now making drastic changes to catch up to the times. Either way, no matter what type of government we have in place it seems big business has more say in our future than good old heads of government. Did I mention how much I hate Walmart :) :)

Booger never did answer...

problem with that trish is the complexity of the accounting required to maintain such a system.... now there should be a priority list included with each ballot so the elected government can prioritize spending based on the wants of the majority....

I have a huge issue with hand-outs to immigrants & refugees while our own citizen elderly are forced to live below poverty after working an contributing thier whole lives.... As a country we are willing to provide a safe haven for refugees and the opportunity for immigrants to build a better life, this should not cost the taxpayers the billions of dollars it does there are so many options which are left unexplored.... low interest loans as opposed to hand-outs and if in a certain timeframe they default then thier immigration status is revoked.... the welfare system in this country is horrible as is the EI system...There are people who purposly have more kids to increase welfare benefits, lifers who know nothing but and those who collect OUR tax funds while maintaining "under the table" employment.
My dad worked steady for over 30 years and when he was laid off he was eligable for 16 weeks of EI, yet seasonal workers are eligable for 26+ weeks after only 10 weeks of employment....

Friggin Ric....got me going....:rant::rant::rant::realmad:

.................

scattered throughout my usless posts there are a few that actually make sense.....

there is no place for religion in politics.... the church of maxwell along with the catholic religion will also be loosing it's tax free status.... the rights and freedoms to practice the belief of ones choice is a fundamental right but if a church/religion/parrish is run as a business it should be taxed as a business...

the roman catholic church creats more revenue than google....AND is tax excempt...

Non-proffit my azz......
