i'm worried the retard driving the forklifts in the shop are gonna get blitzed and drive into my office...how am i supposed to tell if someones high? i don't smoke anymore...high school was fun...nothing against it but i don't want to smell it everywhere i go either. Called it skunk for a reason...I like hearing story's of how small amounts help people like eclipse1966 ^^ i want it to be legal and be free for you to use and better your life best it can...but some **** head hot boxing his rig on the highway gonna kill someone and we will see it all unfold in the near future...**** storm is a comN boyz, better get the **** bats.

Are you so naive that your thinking that doesnt happen already? You think all the sudden that its legal now people will start driving while smoking???? The people that will drive around blazing have been for years and years already, they arent just gonna start jul 1st. Some newbie smoker isnt gonna go buy some 1 gram pre roll, smoke it to his brain and decide hey im gonna go drive now. If anything its gonna be the opposite, now that its legal its gonna be harder to cruise around getting stoned as all you propaganda babies are gonna be sitting finger on the 911 call button “ ummmm hi 911 i just seen this guy driving smoking a joint, he was doing the speed limit, turned his right blinker on and stopped at the stop sign for 3 seconds and proceeded to drive down the street to the right obeying all the traffic laws” lmao cmon guys you really cant be that dumb

min age law didn't help much when i was younger...pretty sure i was drinking and smoken weed long before i was of "legal" age to do so. Someone always had a older brother to buy us booze or a buddy's parent liqure cabinet got some bottles filled with apple juice. Kids can probably access everything better then we legal adults can...age means nuttin.

Of course that never changes, weed was easier to get in high school than liquor 20 years ago as you never had to show ID to a dealer, once legal private illegal dealers will be tough to find so it will be up to finding older people to boot for ya just like booze. I was just stating that there are age laws to say its not good for a developing teen to be getting high, its not like legality supports getting kids stoned. In high school i could get a bag of weed in 5 minutes any day of the week, sometimes finding someone to buy booze for the friday night party took all day, and i never was the squid to swipe it from my parents liquor cabinet, that was a beating i never wanted lol

I'm waiting for the wave of douchebags purposely smoking it in public places to flaunt its legality. Then giving a holier than thou speech on how it's legal and they can do whatever they want when you ask them to move somewhere that has less impact on the other people trying to enjoy a public place.

I dont doubt that, there is always those people, some people are douchebags through and through. Discretion is key for me and legality wont change that, like I said there is a time and place, only thing that will change for me is the way in which its purchased

There is no way to control it right now. People do have the right to do what they want on their days off, but pot stays in your system for so long how can it be managed on a work site.
This issue will be no different than with the general public. Plus that crap stinks and lingers in the air, right now with it not being legal it’s hidden from the public eye.
Not really...step outside any lounge to the smoking area now and smell weed. Nobody seems to care that it's still illegal, including cops.

Scary. So because some drivers have poor skills, having more impaired drivers won’t make it worse? Some people on prescription drugs may have diminished ability driving but I’ll bet the numbers are extremely low, but if so, they’re still impaired and shouldn’t be on the road either. Driving impaired by anything is bad news. This attitude that being stoned doesn’t impair you is dangerous. Making pot easier to obtain will result in more people driving and working under the influence. It’s common sense. For those of you out there that own businesses where employees operate vehicles and machinery, I’d like to hear your thoughts and how you plan to address this potential problem.

Just like 90 years ago when prohibition was lifted and made booze easy to come by. Alcohol is pretty easy to find, do alot of people at your workplace get drunk at work? If so i feel sorry you have such a ****ty job you work with a bunch of lowlifes lol just because someone has a hoot doesnt mean they are high still the next morning at work. I have marijuana technically in my system but im not high, and id challenge you to a driving, working, athletics and academic challenge right now and school you. Those 50’s propaganda videos should win an academy award because they still have all you city idiots brainwashed

We had a conversation about exactly this at the shop. Smokers have to move however far away from doors due to second hand smoke. Pot heads will have to go to the same place. What happens when a smoker ends up inhaling pot smoke? If they are not regular users, they will get the smell in their clothes, hair etc. Our conversation ended up with the conclusion of the worst case; if the smoker inhaled enough second had would the chemicals turn up if they were tested at work? They could be in trouble by no fault of their own. This is a very slippery slope, I know not all consequences have been explored.
I don't smoke, I've never touched weed, I can't stand the smell. I know I won't be around the stuff just in case it might turn up in a test. So now my civil liberties and freedom are being trampled on being unable to go where I want when I want because it might risk my family and job. Not happy about this at all. If some dude pushes the above argument in my face, I'll have some choice words.

sorry, i disagree i think ya wrong there...July 1st there will be a bunch of people sparking up just because it's legal. Like stated before, people are gonna make a habit of smoking more in public and flaunting it because it's legal. I'm not naive at all i know it happens day in day out, it's been happening for years...i'm just saying i think it's gonna get worse...and first person that blows it my face walking down the street because it's cool and legal now, is gonna get knocked the fawk out...have fun, get high, do you...just don't blow it at me. What my employees do on their own time is their own business but when your at work and your high, legal or not...you put the rest of my employees in danger...heavy equipment or not. This is my biggest concern. The smell sucks, but so does the smell of curry and i can't do shiet about my neighbour making that stank sheit every Sunday. If you are walking down the street and some guy comes ups to you and farts right beside you...you continue walking or you crank him one?

Never ever heard of someone failing a test due to second hand smoke.

Laws are in place for things like that, smoking in public places is against the law and if people are doing it they can be ticketed, fined etc im sure a minor accidental inhale isnt showing up in a drug test, i worked at a gas plant 13 years ago and had to pass a piss test so i quit smoking for 3 weeks. I lived with three buddies who had our house hot boxed every day of that 3 weeks and i passed my test, piss test and blood test sent to the lab in edmonton, never used a cheater method just cleaned out the system the old fashioned way, youll be fine Mrs worry wort

hahahahahahaha......anger issues, perfect candidate for a joint. You feel 'crank' em one is a real problem solver, how has that worked out for you and your employees? Since when does a little abdominal discomfort lead to a 'crank' hopefully your curry cooking neighbor doesn't pass gas...you gonna 'double crank' him??

I like a drink....sometimes
I like a puff....sometimes
even both at times
life is good
stop knocking people the Fawk out... IT'S BAD!

How this all shakes out is yet to be seen, all the government cares about is getting tax money

Not all weed stinks, the strain I smoke has no real odour,I've been a smoker for around 40 years and I'm in very good health for my age,my mind is as good or better then most, some say short term memory loss is a possibility,I do suffer from that or could it just be a mid 50s thing,I know people that have never smoked who forget **** to.I totally agree people have been brainwashed on pot ands it's hard to tell them different so I don't try,I know myself I'll take guys that smoke weed on work nights over drinkers and heavy drug users.i always found it funny how out there the test for weed but it's the best mind altering substance to function on the next day or at that moment for that matter.I don't condone any substance at work but after on your own time I have never had a issue on my crew with any pot

smokers, drinkers and crack head yup lots.

You’re obviously one of the select few who’s abilities are super-enhanced by pot, but unfortunately for most people it isn’t that way. For some reason you think that everyone that has a drink doesn’t stop until they’re falling down drunk. The difference I see is that I can have a single shot of whiskey and not be drunk. Can you smoke a joint and not be high? You tell me, because I’m far from an expert on cannabis. I don’t tolerate drunks any more than I tolerate drug users. In my mind, if you need to use any kind of substance ( be it alcohol or drugs) on a regular basis to function or make life better, or you can’t wait until it gets to that time of day so you can have a drink or light up a joint, you have serious problems and should get help.

coffee has caffeine it's a drug, alcohol is a drug a highly addictive one, I drink coffee every morning and can't wait for my first cup, I hardly have a problem with my life. If your dumb and a lazy burnout don't blame the pot your just dumb and a lazy burnout. There really is some medicine that can help people suffering from aliments on a regular basis to help them function, to bad everything isn't just black and white would be easier eh!
