Yup just like the title says, I inadvertently put my iPhone 4 in the washer this morning. It was in the pouch of my hoodie and I had the inspiration to throw my hoodie in the washer since I was right there. Low and behold 10 minutes later I am gettin ready to go out and ......I cant find my iPhone.... look around some more.....Thats odd, I just had it.....Try calling it to listen for the ringer....nope....WTF....where could it be......then it hits me. :faint:: ...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....go screamin down to the washer pull out my hoodie and there is my nice shiny 5 week old iPhone now a paper weight in the pocket. CRAPOLA....Do everything I can to dry it out....blower, shop vac to try and suck what moisture I could. NADDA....OK so off to the Apple store I go wait my turn finally get to talk to some one.... play a little dumb...(not too hard at this moment:() Hmmm looks like it has some moisture in it, Lemme go to the back and take it apart he says. A few minutes later he comes back and says "Oooooh this phone is toast and Warranty doesn't cover water damage..." CRAPOLA again..."But I can sell you a replacement phone for $229.00. Well now for 229 gitterdone but letme go to the Bell store just down the hall seeing how I got suckered into the extra warranty....Bell says nottachance, But they will gladly sell you a new one for $659.00. What about the extra warranty I bought? Doesnt cover water damage. Ok so then if I get a new phone can I transfer the extra warranty? Nope. :protest: OK now I get grumpy... Lemme speak to the manager... He comes over says I get the warranty fee refunded at the end of the term if it is unused as they explained to me when I bought it. :rules:: OK but you said I cant transfer it to another phone so then that warranty will never get used so refund me RIGHT NOW. I cant do that. He tells me again. I explain to him then that the warranty will never be used so gimme my money. Then out of the kindness of his heart instead of refunding my money he relents and decides he will transfer the warranty over to the new phone. JUST THIS ONE TIME. Back to the Apple store and I buys the new phone from Apple @ $229. Then I get the idea that I paid for the original one with my credit card and it just may be covered with the "purchase protection" credit card co's offer. So now I guess I got some more legwork. Keepin me fingers crossed..:tissue:

You bought a new iphone 4 from an Apple store for $229??
Yup, I suspect it was a refurbished one. Only got the phone, no ear phones, manual or anything esle, just the phone. Some one suggested that Apple was doing it for "goodwill" policy that they recently started.

I've never heard of it working for iPhone, and it was on when it got wet. Energised electrictronic gadgets dont like water at all. Nothing would work and the little LED light for the camera would not turn off untill the battery went dead.

Did you get to keep your Broken Phone?
I asked if I could and they said no way. They will likely refurbish it and put it back out there.

Someone suggested that I try my credit card co for purchase protection. Hmmmm I still need to look into that...

I have a BBerry , it has been through a full wash and dry , in the toilet , and also kick across the yard , fallen in snow. And it still keeps ringing, besides running it over any idea how to make it stop?

LMAO...

I'm amazed how tough my Berry is as well. Last January, we had a pretty major snowstorm and I lost it out of its holster and found it an hour later laying in the snow. Took it directly to my truck and put it on the defroster and left it there for a half hour. Hasn't missed a beat. Also had countless other drops, smashes, etc and it just keeps on going.
