yer pic looks a little wind blown ?? are u looking at the bottom cams again ? lol come out to Red on sunday or are u to chicken to climb links and Roberts ?

It was a little windblown on the ridge, some nice powder where it dropped in behind though.... LOL

I climbed Links Line back in the day on a hoodless 670, sorry man, not much of a challenge with todays's sleds. Climbing Roberts - no thanks, its chutes and springtime.... you won't catch me anywhere near them in spring snow with potential to slide. They have already been climbed on stock 800's anyway.

Surprised you are not going to Gray to hit the cat ski area, or maybe you are. I got some wicked 4x6 glossy's of the old hillclimbs we had at Red back in the mid 90's when the BCSF was still going and they held the hillclimb on the face of Red, we would run up Granite and hit Links at the end of the day, if you want to meet up I can show u. We used to take the long tracked Phazer and the 670 up there way back in 1995, go over to Gray, etc etc. Some of it is private land, so need permission, but mainly its hardpacked ski terrain, not really my style of riding. Sorry man, if that's where you are rolling then I'm gonna pass.

See many stock nitro's and apexes climbing shoots? lol

Any full on climber is going to have some serios mod work done..

Closest thing to a stock shoot climber is the 1100turbo cat....

I guess I should have clarified for those that don't believe in all things being equal for accurate comparison. Stock Nytro and the word chute shouldn't even be in the same sentence ever!

I was comparing a modded turbo nytro or apex to a 1200 modded and turbo'd Gade. Both with about the same hp, both turbo'd. I would like to see it.

Definatly get more HP out of a 1200 then U will a Nitro motor,, Nypex's and 1200 doo mod sleds are pretty comparable.

How do you figure you get more hp out of the doo than the nytro both start life as 130 hp if all the same mods are made and the boost is the same with the same turbo I'm thinking same hp!!! The apex starts at 155 and is capable of probably more hp with the same mods. Just pointing out the facts.

Ive seen 400hp 1200 doos,,I have never seen a nitro motor makin much more than about 300hp,,Do you know of a nitro motor that makes 400hp?I Dont think even a built nitro motor
would live at 400hp,, I could be wrong? Show me one id like to see it forsure.

Seen plenty of apex motors pushing 400+ hp tho

Not so sure about yer facts,by your logic a etec that starts out at 165hp should
be able to make more power than a 155hp apex motor?

Doesnt work like that...lol

stock the doo 1200 is built beefier than either yamaha motor. the 1200 does not need rods or pistons until you're into the 300+ range.out east there are a few guys building absolutely stupid power with these motors. Martin at motec just ripped a 650hp /380tq run off a few weeks ago with 40+psi . it really is an underrated motor that is a torque monster and is really efficient on boost typically adding 9-11hp/psi.
when this motor first came out a few tested it to 400+ hp on stock rods and piston.

Most guys buy standard kits for the nytro where as most doos are custom kits. Like I said if the same engine work is done same turbo they would have I'm sure same hp. Most kits put on the nytros are done to a stock engine so 290 to 310 is pretty much max.

Most guys(every guy) I know that have ligit 300hp nitro's have some motor work done....

still Id love to see a 400+ nitro motor...I just dont think one exsists??

Any who,, That why I stated that you can get more hp out of a 1200 than you can a Nitro.
And I've seen nothing thats changing my mind thus far...lol

For sure they do. the boys out east have built a couple for dragging. skip to about 3:00 min mark. Take a ride on OSP outlaw 4.46 @ 156mph - YouTube Not saying they will last day in and out, but let's be honest, once you hit about 250-280, there's not much more power you need in the mountains until they come up with the 222" x 4" track to actually convert bigger power to forward momentum.

A big boost propane sled will be close, easily over 300 HP. Smooth and linear power is more manageable with the 4 cylinder compared to the 3 banger. Some guys can do more with less because you can actually control the sled and power when riding (at least in the mountains). 300+ HP you are pretty much just hanging on for the ride at anything over 1/2 throttle. Keeping in mind its not all about power, but also power to weight as well. You could put a 1,000 HP big block V8 in a sled but doesn't mean it would be any faster.

I hear yea and agree with you for the most part,, Ive seen that 400hp 470lbs machine the built for MM8 and its pretty rideable id say.

Realalisticly 250hp is lots for a mountain sled,, but 400 or 500hp sleds are really F$ckin cool
