put up some phony "video surveillance" signs

Better yet, put up some real video surveillance right above the signs where they can see them. These systems are getting very reasonably priced.

And leave the guns locked up in the house. It's tempting, but it never works out well for you. :D

Don't resort to guns...................

Have a read.................this farmer went to jail !!

That's what i am afraid of, even if i shoot in the air to get them away, they are going to accuse. And god help me if they do try to steal all 3 of my sleds... I will be going to jail...

Thanks for the replies everyone, but i'm still at a loss on what to do. I'm just going to keep my eye out for them. Hopefully i don't have to let it all out and flop around in the cold chasing after them.

If it'll flop around in the cold then maybe there is something for them to be afraid of. lol

Really? A $370 surveillance system is too much for you?
Whats a camera going to do to stop them? Of they want it they're going to take it anyways. Yeah the video camera will help prosecute the person who was in my yard. But I would rather stop it before it ever happens.

What about just putting in 2 posts with a locked chain across your driveway? Not a lot of work or cost and keeps people from driving in.

A sign "I might go to jail for shooting a trespasser, but atleast I will get out".

One day hopefully our laws will change and stop protecting the criminals. The second it is undoubtably proved you are on someone elses property with bad intentions, you should have zero rights and even if your just there to steal a penny, they should have the right to kill them. If they are leaving with nothing and damaged nothing, there is obviously doubt on why they where there, but if they are leaving with stolen property or did anything should still be fair game.

We have a gate that is closed and locked whenever we are not home. Also have fencing. But we are in a subdivision with neighbours so that does help. Although others in the past have been robbed. Nothing is 100% secure. We also do not leave our toys up front where passersby can have a look. I see that all the time out in the country, see sleds and quads sitting out front just waiting for the lowlifes to see. Out of sight, out of mind.

Park a Kawasaki quad out front, that will make any thief leave laughing.

like the lady said out of site out of mind but u could put a logging chain on the wheels and hook it up to a building. My trailer was enclosed and they still got into the trailer anyway and u can also get a alarm system on the trailer my neighbor had to do the same thing to his trailer because of breakin's the other thing u can do in chain the sleds down inside the trailer. When they broke into my trailer they took everything that wasn't tight down because I had my toolbox bolted to the floor and thats the ownly thing they left so good luck.
