I lived in Hinton as a kid, the best part of that boat ride was going under the highway 40 bridge! Used to camp at Jarvis Lake every summer until my teens, even after we moved back north. Was some good fishing there, big pike and lots of yellow perch.

Did a little swimming in the river myself last Saturday. That’s such a awesome view when you enter the lake on the river!…

Some of the properties along the river have great beaches and stunning views. I saw a whole new side to Hinton.

There was a couple big visible rocks and a few sleepers just below but it was at a great level for our first time through, river was easy to read. My feet touched the sand bottom when I jumped in the lake.
