Is the highway from calgary to Golden open again? I have yet to ride this year and are booking places. Is the construction ongoing or done or will it be off and on kind of thing.

Its open. I think they might shut it down at night though.

It is open but not continuous from Gorman to Quartz. Sounds like logging at the wiseman corner and Hwy widening construction have it disrupted from wiseman to Quartz. Check the club site for more info.

Anyone here crazy enough to do day runs from the red deer or rocky area out to golden during the week? Hard to spring on the cost of hotels and everything these days

I do day runs from Calgary, similar distance from Rocky I suppose. About 3 hours to Quartz one way (national park speed limit kills the vibe). If I'm going to dish out for a hotel I just drive the extra 45ish minutes to Revi. Toby creek by Panorama is a little closer.

I've done a couple runs from Caroline now. Usually leave around 4AM and im home by 8 or 9 PM

Myself and 3 others are heading to Golden Feb 3-6. its been a few years since I rode there and Ive only really remember gorman a bit. Im sure all we have to go is go and ride but if anyone is there that time and know the area and wouldnt mind a few guys tagging along that would be great.

Ive ridden Quartz maybe twice is all years ago, Gorman a few times over the years and thats it. Never been anywhere else

I was at golden last weekend. Rode Hope and silent pass. Both were stellar. Long ways to go though/
Got some intel on some jeep roads to break some time on the whoopy trails to a couple of key riding spots,,, if anyone is game to explore.? thoughts?

One isn't a proven spot. A buddy went up last summer into the east side of the forestry rd towards hope. It looked steep, but possibly doable. Other place was south of town, gotta get coordinates.

Hah yea I have tried everything around town, but as usually I don’t openly speak about it too much.

More than likely have already tried or have been to the top.
