The silent road was still in rough shape on Saturday, not graded yet. Trail is ok but not yet groomed.

Just a heads up...
Decided to head up to Susan lake Saturday 04 dec at noon..
Turned around at km3..
4 or 5 large trees fell across the trail... all in one spot.
If someone is coming out to susan lake.. bring chain saw..
Thanks in advance.

That slide was in Area 51 in Quartz. Seen it yesterday. There was evidence of slides on the big slopes all through the area. Lots of wind loading from the last week of Storms. We stayed low In the trees and smaller slopes there is a definite rain crust underneath. Hard riding in it threw the sleds around pretty good and once you broke through you were done. Beautiful day clear blue lots of stucks I’m sore today.

Rode Oldman today. Conditions weren't too bad. Spent most of the day fixing.
Ross (RN4) kissed a rock and peeled off a side panel.
My starter failed. Now I have to pull start my sled like a big boy.
Our newbie Al. Scorpioned and broke the break lever on his rental.
Found two boys in the trees with a new Lynx with a snapped chain. Helped tow them back down. Lol.

Saw your post on Facebook Ryan. Sounded like one of those days should have stayed in the hotel room. Lol

Was also in Quartz Sat the 4th and this describes the conditions perfectly. Really tough riding with the crust break through with a ski or spindle and stops you dead on sidehill or downhill carve. Looked at going back past area 51 and that class 2 ripped out of the top next to the trail stopped us from being exposed to that.

Rode Gorman yesterday the 5th and it was excellent, no rain crust and the high winds had almost totally reset it plus a bluebird. Was getting pretty ridden out by the end of the day, lots of guys in there.

It definitely stopped you fast. I went over the handle bars on a little down hill side hill. Wasn’t going fast just stopped dead. I felt like I forgot how to ride but my group all said the same thing hard to ride in.
