Thanks Calgarysledguy for coming out and doing the concrete work. Unlike most S&M members you only drank 2 beer to complete a job. Looking forward to ride with you this winter!

Update on garage project. Had Calgarysledguy come and extend pad 2 feet long and wide. Now I have a 24x22 garage, with 10.5' walls. Ran 8/3 wire out to it, gotta figure out lights now. Electrician told me to do six 4' with 2 bulbs, I figured might as well do eight. Not sure on layout or T5 or T8. Anyone want to suggest layouts?

I have an idea where I want plugs, they are on the picture. I am gonna add one for garage door opener, and another in the corner (top left of picture) up high on a switch for a compressor.

Don't Forget a few plugs on the out side walls .... and I agree with the 8 4' t8 6 in 5 he main area and 2 above where ever your bench is going to be ... on different switches

Was thinking this layout as the left side will be storage. But that sets lights directly over vehicles. Not sure if that's a good thing

So thought this may be better as it puts lights above open areas when vehicles are parked

I think this would be a better set up for working on vehicles ... thats pretty much how I did mine and it works great

You are going to find that you have an ungodly pile of light for such a small space....i suspect 4 fixtures and one over a bench area would be plenty.

Plus you have 4 fixtures right in line where the garage door tracks are going to be....

That's a lot of light.
The two Best thing I did was sky lights and wired in was a ceiling fan. IMO
Sky lights I barly ever need lights on. The ceiling fans I run it all year round. It keeps air movement in winter to help with humidity. And in summer it keeps ya cooler if ya want.
I'll take some pics in a bit for ya
P.S
Look at scissor trusses, they are like 2-$500 more and you gain nice space inside without changing out side height. I'll never do anything but.

Garage is already built. Too late for fancy skylights and trusses. And no plug for xmas lights as the garage faces the alley.

Aaa
Nothing fancy about trusses or sky lights. Stupid cheap really.
My garage is 1400sqft I think to upgrade the trusses was $450 and the skylights home depot $138 each.
I don't have Xmas lights facing the ally???? Mine face the house!

Put more lights in than you think you need, put them on different switches so you can use what you want. add a dehumidifier for the winter with a drain going out side, keeps stuff from rusting when your sleds/truck is drying out, especially with a heated/ insulated garage

Dont forget to put a plug on roof in desired corner for a furnace. ( if you plan on putting one in down the road)
