G5/G4 turbo sparkplugs

Ok. So this seems to be a common problem. More likely boils down to oil consumption of turbo sleds.

Anyone ever track a hotter plug to try and get some self cleaning action. Heat range 9 is ridiculous cold, should be a 8 or even a 7. Anyone try?

Don't quote me on it, but I'm pretty sure there was a switch in heat ranges, so doo was experimenting themselves. You'd have to go look at the parts lookup. Of course, the fuel and ignition map likely changed as well.
Regardless, I have never had an etec plug like that. Turbo or n/a. Dryish buildup on mainly on the ground, but never oily on the porcelain like your pic. Could it be a result of the summarization?

2021 & 2022 spec an ILKR9Q7G. 415130211
2020 & 2023-5 spec an ILKR8Q7. 415130154
Both brp part numbers have superseded a previous number.

Thanks for the info, pretty much verify what I was thinking.

Change in plug gap as well from .025 to .028 which may help for lower RPM.

Interested to see how this works out if you’re trying it this season. I also noticed how gummy my ‘22 gets. Had the plugs oil foul and wouldn’t start over a cold snap last season

I’ve ran out of gas at 1pm before but never worried about oil. Maybe it’s the turbo deal now?

if you ride these hard in deep snow on a nice sunny day you could easily find yourself needing extra oil.
I'm well aware they chug the oil when theres lots of WOT, but to consume more than a gallon on a single ride says there is something amiss.
I've also never had an etec spark plug look like it was dipped in my diesel pickup used engine oil.
