Seen this on another thread from yesterday g4s oil consumption.. How did this sled get threw emissions

Riding in waist deep pow yesterday I was out of fuel in 32 miles and dumped in a full 5gal from some race cans we brought with us. 30 miles later I’m almost completely out of oil and getting the warning beeps. By the time I got to the truck it was dangerously low(and yes it was filled to the rim at the start of the day). Lesson learned so today I brought a gallon of oil and 10 gals of fuel plus my spare on the tunnel . Glad I bought 35 gal of of oil in bulk at the start of the season Already burnt 12gals.

I have been watching closely because I was impressed when Doo announced the changes they made for this motor design as an aim to make them last as long as a 4 stroke. Maybe any 2 stroke would last near as long as a 4 stroke if the pistons and crank was submerged in oil all it's life. I hope Doo is listening,

34.7 liters I burnt today. Oil light was on for the last hour. Over 3/4 tank of oil to a tank of gas

There's no way they're all like this, a rental outfit would go through barrels!

My 3 850's have all used 30% more oil than the 800's. I am okay with oil consumption, but why advertise better than the 800.

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer folks. BRP never said they got 163.9 hp from the 800 etec. They advertised that an independent company got that number. Maybe sketchy advertising all in all but it wasn't them that named that number.

Yes that is true " independent 3 party testing " found those numbers once. But ohhhhh do they love that number for advertising... Heck I still see dealers trying to move the XM's and they are still using the old faithful 163.9 hp statement.

I try to support local/Canadian as much as I can but when a spade is a spade one can't look the other way. The fact that Laurent Beaudoin is chairman of the board for BRP and for Bombardier, sure does not help with all the government money nonsense going on as well.

So the sled "review" TV shows have something to parrot. They all fell for that and repeated it, obviously without verifying the claim.

What is the price to fill a 25l jerry can with bulk xps oil? Is there any good bulk pricing at edmonton area dealers?
