Did they get any better towards the end of their run? Found a 2006 F250 loaded for an awesome price. Just scared of that 6L.

RUN! No such thing as better near the end of the run......Still the biggest POS diesel on the market. Why do you think the price is so awesome? Almost impossible to sell them. You're absolutely correct in your nervousness over a ford 6.0L.......

Sorry to burst your bubble but the 6.0 is more trouble than its worth.

They can be made reliable but it takes money to do it.

The only way to do it is be prepared to do the upgrades, other than that consider the truck a ticking bomb. They need head studs, egr delete, possible ficm upgrade and that should get it half ass reliable.

Why doesn't ford just put a cat motor in all their trucks. Make life easier.

Dodges are way to fawking uncomfy. Like driving a brick. Every little bump feels like you're doing 3' drop offs. Plus the awful front ends. The death wobble scares me.

Chevs shake and rattle and the cabs refuse to stay tight, have the loosest stearing.

when was the last time you checked out a dodge? pretty nice rigs now a days little crude in yrs past but that never seemed to matter as they just kept on going personally have put over 400000kms on my past 3 cummins without any issues sure front ends a few times but I see the fords and chevs pound the same roads I do and they are in getting front end work as well and the only times I experienced this death wobble was when the steering stabilizer was completely shot

The 6.4L is an awesome motor. Especially since by the sounds of it you are looking to make power, you're put at a reliable 550HP with simply a tuner, exhaust and a CAI. Ours has 95K on it with no issues, and all of it has been towing in excessive of 10K or long haul trips.

I want power but equally important fuel economy.

We had a 6.4, it was good until 170000k then boom!
