Still areas of untracked deep in the secretive trees if one is adventurous. A great day yesterday with over the hood pow in all the places we found. Yes, the open areas are a mess and people are still hitting the stumps but we have had 3 of the best days of the year.

Fantastic last couple of days out in Fernie. My two riding buddies got out there a day ahead of me and rode the rolling hills all day in that fresh deep and said they only saw one other group - talk about lucky!
Still, Saturday and Sunday were awesome. Found lots of untouched or barely touched hood deep snow. Sunday was a little chilly but got better as the afternoon went and sunny all day and so far has been the best day of my season.

Just wondering if anyone found a tow rope and strap by Wranglers cabin on Saturday? My kid left his tunnel bag open. Thanks in advance.

Good day of riding although it was a bit cold for my liking, -18 when we got back to the truck. There was a bit of an inversion, but at the elevation we were riding we kept going in and out of the cold/warm...bit hard to dress for that.

We warmed up for the last hour or so before taking the trail out. This was accomplished by digging and cutting, ropes and pulleys, tugging and trenching and road building. Friends sled took a mini ghost ride into the forest. Toughest extraction of the year...by a long shot, photo doesn't do it justice.

The Morrissey Staging area today at 11:00 am. Pretty quiet and the trails were well groomed. In Coal Creek there were 20 vehicles and the lot was basically full. Going to be a struggle going forward but they may get it done to accommodate spring riding. Sorry, no riding pictures today; we used it as an exploratory day looking for new zones. Did we find some? You betcha!

i know a ton of people were in last weekend and it was a gong show. I haven't been out all week but last week was sure SWEET

Yeah I rode sat/sun. Town was absolutely packed sat morning and I got worried but the lots weren't crazy busy (just congested because people don't know how to ****ing park) and we hardly saw anyone on the hill. Likewise for sunday, lots of vehicles but barely saw anyone.
Lots of room out there!

Yes, I have expanded my zone knowledge. To push it further, I will go back with some better riders. My wife, even though she rides quite well, isn't the person to be taking into the drainages/ravines.

If you were talking about untracked when you mentioned new stuff, yes there is untracked out there but it is getting further and further back.
