Fernie Snow Conditions 2017 - 2018

Let me know if this is not the place to post this. Is anyone going to be riding fernie this weekend or next week that wouldn’t mind a guy tagging along? Going for the week but all my usual crew can’t make it. Intermediate rider with AST1 and all the “tools”.

A Valentine's ride today with my better half. It was deep and the trees were awesome. Best riding of the year and the 3" was working today.

Drove thru Fernie yesterday, happened to be a guy on a sled in the ditch east of town, snow was going over his head. Yeah it looks good.

Yes, Hosmer is a little bit of a snow belt. Always more snow on the ground there than Fernie and way more than Sparwood. The tracks were deep.

There's a ride right on the north side of hosmer isn't there? Seem to remember going back there once later in the year and finding a bunch of pretty fun cut block riding

Yes there is. A buddy was in there a couple times this year. Didn't talk to him about it tho'. Not a lot of snow this year so maybe it isn't up to par.

Coal Creek is open. We staged at Morrissey today and the trail pass vendor told us about Coal Creek. My better half struggled in the tight trees and deep snow today. She was snuggled right up to this beauty. Nary a scratch but her pride was a little damaged.

Where do you turn off the road to get in there? The Hartley Lake Rd?

It is the first right past/south of the Snowy Peaks RV place. It follows along the Elk River towards Sparwood.
