Worth the trip for two of us? Doesn't sound promising... Anyone willing to meet up and ride with Shane and I tomorrow?

Plus 1.5 degrees at 5,200' at the ski hill
Minus .5 degrees at 6,800' at the ski hill

Rain is moderate to heavy in town right now. Rolling Hills cabin is at 5,800 feet. There is a chance it could be epic above 6,000'...its gonna be a fine line.

The rain turned to snow about 1800m (6000') in Elkford. The snow was good above 7200'. So in Smith basin we had great snow and above Mear Lake. Avalanches are working. One came down over our track while we were in Smith. A few slab releases on some small hills and a big one above Mear Lake. At 2:00 pm the snow turned to glue as it was quite warm and wet. I don't quite see it the same as bopper; the game is only half on and the snow is quite goooooooy even above 7000'. There was 16" (40cm) of fresh above 7200' and it was great until it got too warm.

The trail in Elkford is the chits; very wet on the bottom and very rough all the way up. No fault of the groomers as there isn't enough snow to groom at the lower elevations. I don't know what to say. I don't think I will ride tomorrow as the snow we tracked up today will set up and be ugly tomorrow. I am at wits end with this weather.

Rode coal Creek today. Steady rain to the new cabin. Fresh snow half way up the burn across from the cabin but heavy wet snow on rain crust. We're not riding tomorrow. Looks like May riding. Saw a few smaller slides.

We just got back into fernie from coal creek. Minimal stuff above ridge lines that was rideable. Everything I have is soaked, right down to my boxers. Wet and rainy from about 500 ft above the cabin, some decent stuff just at the top of the ridge but still tons of trash to hit so be careful.

Only about 1 ft of new stuff but packed due to rain, definitely some slides happening on the crust down about 2 ft so be careful, stuff running into the trees. Will post pics tomorrow.

trail is gone to crap, gonna be down to gravel in spots by Sunday if this rain keeps up. Parking lot and coal creek Rd are sheet ice, the creeks are running high and all chocolate brown, could be flooding on that road. Not riding tomorrow if that's an indication.

Is the big nut still on the end of the driveshaft? That's also the target for the speed sensor. I actually had it spin itself off and fall in the bottom of the belly pan on my M1000. Couldn't for the life of me figure out how it got past the sensor without wiping it out.
