You probably didn't factor in the tire sizes....Deere has MUCH larger tires on the 4930 vs Case 4420.

Another common complaint with the Case "rear engine" sprayer is you need to service the rad DAILY or it heats up. Ask a Deere guy how often he has to clean his rad....NEVER

Yah it is a bit quieter with the rear engine but not better.

Who has the superior ride? DEERE

What's the HP on your case? 290 vs 325 on Deere

Rinse tank 70 gal vs 150 on the Deere

Visibility from the cab when transporting down the road? You can hardly see out of the side with the Case because of the booms folding up next to the cab....very dangerous crossing intersections or coming out of the field onto the road.

Resale value? WOW no comparison there....Deere kicks ass again.

The booms on both fold up beside the cab. I can see out of the side really well in my case. I have not been in a 4930 so I can't compare but from seeing them folded up from the outside I don't think visibility would be any better.

You need that extra power to more the extra 5000lbs. My buddy has a 4930 his tires are a bit taller but mine are wider.

Last year I only cleaned my rad once.

I bit quieter, try way quieter. 2 years ago I tried a 4730 and my 4410 was way quieter in the cab.

I was REALLY hoping this thread didnt come to a green v.s. red pissin match! a little poke of fun between the 2 every now and then is fine but EVERY brand has its positives and negatives weather it be cars, pickups, quads, snowmobiles, boats, and yes weather you want to admit it or not..... FARM EQUIPMENT so stop fighting! This year all sprayers suck except a crop duster, bring EVERY sprayer down here they make and Ill bury EVERY SINGLE ONE!!!

They always said the good lord gives us what we need not what we necessarily want. So all we can do is grin and bare it, I know its hard to do but its the hand we are delt.

std tires on Case 380/90R46 vs 380/105/50 on Deere = larger tires
optional tires on Case 650/65/38 vs 620/70R46 = 3cm narrower but much taller = larger tires

Oh, and we should also mention the Deere's Auto Steer is "hands down" the BEST on the market. Most accurate, most consistent signal, most user friendly!

Bit...your cab is a little bit quieter because the engine is at the back...unfortunately, you can't stay in the cab very long because the engine temp alarm comes on and you have to go clean the rad screen off with all the chaff and crap because the engine is running in the dust at the rear of the sprayer.:d

The coupe will get the job done. My dad and I had a 4640 and in 2005 I sprayed 37000 acres with it and that is I little much when you are cramped in the little cab. So be it Case or Deere the larger cab is nice when you are spraying that many acres.

We just bought a 7660, and the cab is a little small, but still bigger then the tractor we had on our old sprayer.

Heres a question I hope someone can answer. Does anyone know what the mix ratio is for Curtail M? I was looking on the jug but it just tells me how many acres it will cover, and my math isn't good enough to convert all that down to a ratio. I have a 120L sprayer that I use around the homestead.
Thanks in advance for any info.

Edit: Actually I lied, I just went out to the shop to look at the jug again, but there is no coverage info on the jug ( I was thinking of the Triilium that I used last year, it had the coverage info, and the folks at Sturgeon Valley Fertilizer told me that the Curtail M is more potent than the Trillium and therefore should use less.

Wet wet wet, should see some of the ruts around here from spryaing, some ruts 2 1/2 feet deep from 1 side to the other, sure glad the neighbor did our spraying, it would have been brutal doing it with the pull type in this mud

Thanks, I was reading that last night as well, but I'll be damned if I could figure out a ratio from the fl/oz to acres.

Edit: Mixture Ratio 10:1. Just called Sturgeon Valley Fertilizer, took a couple of minutes to get him to go from the litres per acre to just the water to Curtail ratio.
