You can go up the road some and park. The ride up is much quicker and get's you into prime riding.

This time of year your going to drive a way till the snow but otherwise i use to park at a junction only a few k up. Its better suited for deck's and depending on season activities up there and snow you could be parking farther up.
You end up riding a short section of FSR that would be part of the trail and it goes into the timber up the mountain into several meadows. Then you pop out onto Kanaka lake where you can either go towards Gordon Sydney or over the saddle towards Cook or head towards Owls. Either way, it's IMO some of the best riding found on this range.

yesterday... top of meadows on the ridge at Blue Lake. Cloudy til the end of the day then it warmed up and made mashed potatoes. We hit it at the perfect time the last two days! Deadly trip but its home time until it snows again...
